Re: Do The "Things We're Looking For" Lists Make You Feel Like No One Is Looking For

to be honest, i have found the lists to be encouraging lol i'm far from perfect (it's true! lol) but i gots some good qualities hehe.

now do i feel someone is looking for/at me? not really. i've always felt overlooked - the girl who is always the friend, which isn't a bad thing :)

maybe i just live in the wrong place lol jk
I wish you and my son could text as friends and see where it goes. You both love the Lord, you're both worship leaders, you both are super nice, you both tell the silliest jokes. LOL I realize you two are about 4 hours apart but hey, that would be a plus if it turns out my son is too much of a dork for ya. ROFL!! :D

Re: Do The "Things We're Looking For" Lists Make You Feel Like No One Is Looking For

If I wait for love to come to me, I would have 2 choices. The Direct T.V. man, or the plumber, lol...so I realized that when ya let a man in society know how much you love Christ...you will make most of them not fool with you, when their intentions was to use your body anyway. I am very happy not asking for much...just praying for kindness in a man someday is a gift from God. To say that I have to have a partner, may be wishful thinking....or dreaming lol I should say. Whatever is Gods plan for me will happen,...and I can't force destiny by making a list of my ideal man. But should there be a best friend in a man for me, I hope he loves God and chocolate! Lol...easy to please here, and Praising God for it. God Bless you all that all you wish for comes true! Praise God thank you Jesus for all the love in CC. Amen

Well, if these are Christians talking about the club, then perhaps the problem isn't people on FB but the people You have in Your life. Rather than ditching FB, which is nothing more than a reflection of your choices in friends, it may be time to reevaluate who your friends are.
If these are not Christians then, unless they are bringing you down in your own walk, shouldn't you be the light to them?

Far as if anyone 'likes' when you say 'I love Jesus', judging peoples faith by their willingness to 'like' such a post is a rather shallow method of ascertaining their faith. Personally, i don't 'like' things like that on CC or FB or anywhere. Not because it's bad or wrong to say, or because i lack faith, i just don't see the point in randomly posting such a thing. That's just my opinion. But the point being, don't be so quick to judge a persons faith by whether or not the 'like' a post.

Re: Do The "Things We're Looking For" Lists Make You Feel Like No One Is Looking For

I would say that CC represents a pretty narrow sample of the general human (or even Evangelical) population, so one shouldn't derive to many conclusions about himself or herself based on the threads here. Especially since I know that everyone here possesses multiple awesome qualities :)

Good thread. I know I'm Christian but I don't ignore science. If everything was all together in one dense point at the beginning of creation then there should be someone for everyone I feel. So I think the lists don't matter that much. Our consciousnesses were meant to be. The creator understands its nature. No one likes to be alone that's why god created them both male and female.

Then why did the apostles die single?

And if no one likes to be alone then does that make me a no one? I'm kinda enjoying being single.

Well... The Bible tells of Jesus healing Peter's mother-in-law of a fever, so we know at least one of His closest followers was married. (Matthew 8:14)

Most of us are also familiar with the passage in which Paul talks about being content in every stage/situation of life (Philippians 4:11,12) and I also believe this applies to being single and/or married--that we might not find ourselves in the exact situation we want in the exact timing we think is right for our lives, but God intends to teach us something in every stage and gives us the grace to live out each circumstance according to His will.

Re: Do The "Things We're Looking For" Lists Make You Feel Like No One Is Looking For

Well, I think that a few years ago they would have made me feel inadequate. Sometimes I still do feel that way, though it has less to do with lists and more to do with how I view myself.

That aside, I think I'm just...happy where I'm at. So, if I don't meet all of the qualifications on someone's list, I don't really care. I'm not going to change just to fit a list. If I had to change major things about myself, am I really a match for that person, anyway?

I've liked several guys with fairly different personalities and backgrounds. They had a few similar qualities, I suppose (the important ones). Granted, my crushes never became a relationship (nor have I been in one to know) so I can't say that I know whether or not it would have actually worked out.

I think there's a difference between what you need, want, and prefer. And from person to person, the same quality may be on a different part of the "list". For example, I would NEED my future husband to be family-oriented, but for someone else, that may only be a preference, but wouldn't overall affect the relationship if they weren't because they weren't that interested in having kids.

I dunno, I guess I'm just feeling pretty chill about my singleness (I think the DST hour loss has gotten to my brain) so to answer the original question, someone else's list does not bother me.

Re: Do The "Things We're Looking For" Lists Make You Feel Like No One Is Looking For

Well, since no one wrote the following as qualities they are looking for................

1. A former male-model - who is considering coming out of retirement at the request of my fan(s)

2. A man who can sing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" - and somehow still sound manly

3. A man who can wrestle and defeat a Grizzly Bear (and by Grizzly Bear, I mean the new giant sized chocolate Blizzard treat at Dairy Queen - I win every time)

.................then yeah, I kinda feel left out!!!
