For those not in relationships, don't date, etc... why? Or for those who are, why?

I don't date and God willing, I never will.

Why?

1. I'm not in any position to be married(no career etc)

2. I am not Godly enough to lead a family in the way they need to be led

3. The responsibility for a Christian man to his wife and kids is scary

4. I already had a previous relationship pre-Christ that was filled with sin. My theology on what constitutes a marriage is not solid and I feel I may have gotten married without the certificate and ceremony if you catch my drift.

5. By God's grace, I don't desire a wife nor am I lonely


These things may change one day but I hope they won't(aside from becoming more Godly and more courageous to take risks).

It is good for some to marry for sure though, don't get me wrong. It just isn't for me right now

It is good for some to marry for sure though, don't get me wrong. It just isn't for me right now

maybe one day you will meet someone special,although relationships are a lot of hard work,including long distance ones.

I honestly don't know why...I was in a relationship of 3 years that ended early this year...that's when a lot of things became clear...I have much to work on within myself in order to be prepared to be in a serious Godly relationship...I also have the desire to focus on my career and have a foundation if you will (not that the Lord isn't a stable foundation enough but you know)...other than that haven't really found anyone that I connect to in both an emotional and spiritual way it's either all one or the other...I tend to be over-analytical by nature so whenever something seems like it could be "good" I will look at all the potential "red flags" and make an assessment on whether or not I should pursue a the relationship...my most recent assessments; while we get along (co-worker) she shares a different religious view (which will never be a compromise for me), the other I met through mutual friends and she has a very extravagant lifestyle going out to eat all the time, expensive clothes, purses and in a lot of debt (something else I'm not willing to compromise on I am thankfully to the Lord debt-free and am very wise with how I spend my money sure I don't spare me somethings every once in a while ;-) but I do save much more than I spend...

Guess ultimately I do know & I don't know.
