I am a 43 year old widowed mom of 6 children. I have had several people say to me that now God is my husband. I can't find Scripture to support this statement. Any thoughts?
There is no contextual scripture. This is a common practice among the desperate to marry and the 'Christians should always be happy' types. To suggest God is your husband would also suggest He is your sexual partner. It would also imply an inability to marry anyone else.
The scripture posted above needs to be read with a better understanding and not so literal. But not many Christians believe in contextual scripture reading.

I'm pretty sure those who told her that wasn't referring to a fleshly marriage where you would have sex with him. But you can interpret it like that if you want.

You're probably right. But what we say and how we say it often don't convey the intended message. And I hope I said that politely and accurately.

Christians misquote Scripture all the time, they never read it in context. They treat the Bible like it's mystical.

I remember reading that a widow shouldnt remarry under the age of 30, so If you find someone at your age, theres no reason not to marry.

Where did you read that? I don't believe it's biblical. Rather, Paul counsels younger widows to marry in 1 Timothy 5:14. Of course, "younger" is subjective, but the OP is younger than me, so this verse applies to her. ;)

God is all things we need him to be in times of trouble and for that matter anytime we seek him he is there. I will say there is no reason you can not marry again.

Whether male or female, the church collectively is the bride of Christ- that includes the married and the single. Christ, not Moses, is now OUR husband (spiritually) (Romans 7:1-4). Enoch walked with God and was no more- even though he had been married. Elijah also was taken directly by God- and he was single. Being married or single is irrelativant.

If you did does that mean it's true for your case.
