Ok, everyone, now I'm REALLY curious.

THIS POLL IS ANONYMOUS.

I know this is asking some very sensitive information to some, so please know that your answer is only between you and God.

But, I'm very curious as to what the results will be.

Please also note that as well as being anonymous, the poll is also multiple-choice. Thank you!!

(In case you didn't read the other thread, the reason I'm asking this is because I recently saw quotes by two different Christians--each had voted for opposing candidates, and each believed that "God" "told" them to vote for each candidate they chose because, they each claimed that "God" "told" them that more people would become believers under such-and-such candidate.)

Is this possible? Would God tell Christians to vote for different candidates, or would He tell them all to vote for the same person?

And if so... why don't we see more Godly people in office? You would think that if God is leading people to vote, Christians could take the polls by storm.

I'm not very knowledgeable in these matters so I thought I'd turn to all the experts out there...

I do not vote, but I think it's entirely possible that God would lead people to different candidates.

I don't know if God tells people who to vote for, but I think we should vote for someone who represents what we want represented. Personally, that's how I see it and how I voted last year. I voted for someone who represented my values which are filtered through my Christian faith. Now, no candidate will be perfect and unfortunately there aren't many to choose from, so you have to go with the person who holds values that are closer to your own than not.

I think you're polls got to numerous
:) I once posted a poll about how people felt about polls... and the majority said they like seeing polls in the forum, which is why I write them in the first place.

Another reason I write polls is because many people seem to want to answer, but don't want to write a post or don't know how to word what they want to say.

I see polls as a way of reaching out to those who want to participate but may not have the words in mind of how to do so. I figure, if some people don't like polls, all they have to do is choose not to read or answer them. It's no big deal. *shrugs*

Believe it or not, a lot of thought and prayer goes into writing out the poll choices. They're often incomplete, but I go with what I'm thinking at the time.

I would also challenge anyone who doesn't think they like polls to try writing a few themselves... It's more challenging that you think, I promise.

I meant the options are a bit numerous :p
Lol... My bad, Tue. :)

I like to include a variety of options :) ... Often it seems I don't include ENOUGH answers to satisfy everyone's tastes, but I guarantee a sincere effort is made.

God bless you. :)

Many years ago, I left a church because the pastor thought it was appropriate to preach politics and tell people how they should vote. I agree people should vote their values. But it seems to me, those who always think God is on their side, from a political perspective, are usually the ones to be more concerned about. They usually say one thing and practice something far different.

I believe I'm an Aussie. That said, I try to vote for the candidate who's values and beliefs align most with a biblical perspective - emphasis on the sacredness of life.

Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

He reveals the deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

I didn't vote.

*grumbles about lack of un-American options.

I'm fairly similar to Tintin, although I highly value social policies that take care of the poor and give everyone a fair go.

I vote based on the beliefs, morals, and values of the candidate and whether or not they coincide with my Biblical Christian values. God didn't tell me who to vote for. As previously mentioned, there aren't many candidates who line up with those values.

At the risk of sounding anti-American (which honestly I don't really care, I'm "patriotic" but only to a short extent), I vote but I don't see the point in it. The popular vote isn't what puts the President in office. The electoral vote decides that. I also think it's absolutely ridiculous the amount of money spent on campaigning. I'll stop myself there before I go into a full on rant.
