I recently posted in a thread that I didn't know why God loved me, and just to be fair I'm sure some of us has felt this way, I've always felt that I when I did certain things I'd be punished for it and when other people did the same thing they were fine and mind you they were Christians just like me. I was under the assumptions that he just didn't love me..

I was always confused about it till today... While at church, this verse was thrown my way and I say thrown because I wasn't ready to hear it and it was Hebrews 12:6 here it says, "
because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son"

Now I'm not saying that those who aren't disciplined aren't receiving the love of God but this, this was for me in my time of need and I no longer feel the way that I felt a couple days ago, and I wrote this for anyone who was feeling the way that I did.

God loves you unconditionally, and even if you feel that he doesn't rebuke that voice and accept his love for it has been said,
“It is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it…” 1 Cor 13:5 in regards to God's love.

Have a great day! :)

I certainly know how this feels. I think its somewhat along the lines of we are always hardest on the people we love and have high expectations for them. Good verses to know :)

Yes, and Ephesians 2 stresses that for the believer in the Lord Jesus, it was 'even when we were dead in sins' that God intervened in grace.

Those who love and trust the Lord Jesus don't know why He loved us so. But John's First Epistle 4.19 assures us: 'We love Him, because He first loved us'.
