Never fear, Math Lady is here! The reason Liamson can go as high as 37 is because the lady he would like to date would also have to divide her age in half and add seven. 38 would be too old because half of 38 (19) plus 7 = 26, and Liamson is 25. The formula has to go both ways; this is how you see if you are in the range allowed by this particular method. :)

Now where were you when I needed help in Advanced Statistics... *grumbles* That class pulled down my GPA!!! I could have been a 4.0 if only I had known The Math Lady earlier!!

Everyone loves to quote the love speech in 2nd Corinthians and it seems to me you need to read it again to know, that nowhere does it say "Love is age divided by 2 times 7 plus 5 squared take away 6.738..."

Additionally, I live in New Zealand not the southern states of America, but I am willing to bet your statement in them not appreciating mathematics sounds to me very derogatory and incrediably insensitive and rather two faced, given how silly this whole thread is.

I dont think this formula is something to be taking so seriously. I also think you have to be from the US or have alot of knowledge about the US to undertand what he said about Southerners. Its kind of like an inside joke.

this means absolutely nothing to me as I am 27 so my range would be 20.5 to 40. I usually am not even attracted to guys until about 40. My real range is 37-50.:)

Politician Girl, who you heard a minute ago, distracted me by asking for the 100th digit of pi, then grabbed my cape and mask. When I realized what had happened, I ran over and she is now in the closet, forced to count to infinity. At least she can't run for public office.
Ha, ha, thanks Kimberlea :). Not sure what to say to Doug..."Thanks for reminding me that I'm not too old for a 26-year-old, and won't be for a decade or so", maybe?

By the way, Math Lady was born and raised in the South, and refuses to leave without a heavenly commandment to do so. :) Take that, any possible bigots!
