lil_christian, you inspired this thread. :)

I think we've had a thread like this before, but it's been a while so it's time to have another one.

When people ask how someone else is doing, this is what the conversation typically looks like:

Person 1: Hey! How have you been?
Person 2: I've been good! How about you?
Person 1: I'm good!

....*The end.*

It's more of a polite question, with a "fine" response expected, but I'm going to ask you because I care and it's a good place to share:

How are you...REALLY? Be it at this point in the day, this point in your life, whatever you want it to be. Perhaps we can encourage each other and pray for each other using this thread as well.

I'm fine, really. Yesterday I was grumpy and got a little ticked off at the long running Arthur on Jeopardy. He get's a little snarky sometimes. Oh well.

He can get a bit snarky. But I think sometimes with great intelligences comes a lower ability to socialize with others.

Honestly...I'm feeling a bit better now. I wasn't earlier, and especially after I just posted what I did in IYRKM, but now it kind of feels like a bit of that weight has been lifted. Whether it be the fact that maybe I don't need to hide, or maybe just telling the truth on how I feel was refreshing. I don't know. All I know is that I feel better and I have a peace now that I didn't have this morning.

I'm a bit frustrated, not getting much teaching work at the moment. I wish the teachers that are due to retire would do so. They need to open up the opportunities and jobs for us younger folk to have a better chance.

i feel like God is preparing me for some big changes in my life, though i don't know exactly what and how those changes will look like. it's sort of exhilarating, scary and curious all at the same time.

i'm also managing various amounts of frustration, boredom, and even some feelings of emptiness.

i'm also slightly dragging my heels about something i have been praying about and need to "pull the trigger" on.

i call it the "are you sure, God?" game.

did i really hear that?
so, this absolutely?
really?

i just need to do it.

Disgusted. Disillusioned. Finally awake. Seeing the world as it truly is. Wondering why I ever permitted distraction or tried to have hope in this life. Wondering how people survive in their judgmental, presumptuous, shallow worlds.

I'm feeling:

Exhausted- Not sure why

Excited- I start a new position soon :)

Annoyed - With our justice system or lack thereof

Loved and Hopeful- I am blessed with a very special family and group of friends :)

I feel whelmed.

"This bitterness you hide
it seeps into your soul
and it steals your joy
til it's all you know
let it go"

I was feeling a little stressed these last couple of days, but today I'm starting to see a new ray of hope. It's amazing what some reading and listening of the Word can do.
It's a daily battle, to know that I don't have to figure it all out by myself, to know that I'm not going through life by myself and know that God is in control.

Is that the game where you lay out the fleece over and over again and God is consistent with his answer yet you are too afraid to act? I play that one too. Even after stopping praying about a certain situation, I see God orchestrating certain events toward something greater in this issue.

I'm not sure if it's even about trust...

It's about complacency.

Things have changed so much in recent years that I am resistant to the thought of even a positive change. I think I'm a mess.

It's so great to see that you guys feel safe enough to say how you're really doing. It's not easy to do that. It really isn't. Whether you're doing well for feeling...well, like rubbish (British terms for the win!), I applaud all of you. :D

May God bless all of you and may He bring healing to those who are going through tough times and may He continue to give joy and peace to those who are doing well!
