At the moment I use facebook. However, my most active account is the one that isn't my real name. I have one under my real name but didn't want to use it because it is just too easy to match message board accounts with facebook accounts if people are dropping pictures and real first names. For this reason, it's also easy for identity theft to occur. So, my real name and account there is known only to select relatives, and to strangers there is nothing to connect me to my online self. Not a single post or picture.

Under an assumed name I use FB mostly to keep up with my interests, rather than gather long lists of "friends", which, in my opinion, seems to serve as a point of vanity for some people - like people with thousands of friends. Of course I've used it to look up people as well - famous people or just people I used to know or do know. So far curiosity hasn't killed this cat.

Calling it a 'life' is a far stretch. I go on once, maybe twice a day once in a while. The most interesting things is see are usually about music i listen to. Or sifting through the droll to find actually funny posts. Once in a while i learn something. Rarely use it to directly interact with anyone. Typically there's only a couple people i tag anything to. I have over half of the people on there unfollowed. I just don't care about what they post.

I've never really used it and I don't want to. I would be cautious allowing a corporation that profits from knowing your personal details being an integral part of our lives. Lord knows there are abuses going on as we speak, and there is no telling what kind of compromises Facebook would make if they're forced to comply with a state government's overreach. They would naturally prefer to compromise their users' privacy than be locked out of a market.

Not important at all. I dont have it, I dont want it, i dont need it, its a useless waste of time for anti social freaks with no life.
I got sick of it, I got rid of it. Only fools have facebook. (thats putting it nicely)

Just wondering on those of you who are single, how important is facebook to you? I don't use it a lot as far as posting daily but I do see stuff my f.b. friends post, so it's like reading the daily paper that does nothing but give me news about what is new in their life. And I also communicate with friends and family when I have to instead of calling them on the phone or emailing them. Yet, I work with people who have to post every little thought.

While that is true, Canada does have a wonderful postal system. I highly reccommend it, Its actually nice to recieve a letter from some one who took the time to think about you and write you. Its better than just getting bills all the time.
How ever if people stop using it then the postal system will become as worthless as the internet itself.
