I have been single my entire life (sounds really long but im just 21 years old 
). But i have been realising and feeling that i am single only sometimes during the last couple of years. Mostly because you see others getting in relationships, finding that one person to talk to, be vulnerable to and basically share your life and faith with. But for some reason i feel like it will take some more time before i will get in a relationship myself, if i will ever get in a relationship. It is like the Lord knows that i need to put my mind and heart at rest about this topic and to focus on other things. He gave me the trust in Him to belief that He will care for me and do whats best for His Name and i pray that He will give me the strength to follow His way for me eventhough it will be lonely or hard. But i do not feel single most of the time. I feel happy, sad, lonely, enthousiastic and all other kind of emotions, but i dont feel single a lot. I know im with the Lord and the Lord is with me, so why feeling single?

Yeah, God can do that. I've heard of many who prayed that way, and (to quote a friend) "On our next date I saw more red flags than a chinese parade!" If you want to know, especially about something as important as that, God will show you.
The catch is when you ask God's advice, then go on and do what you were gonna do anyway. I've done that. Not about dating, but I've asked God about something, then ignored Him. Kinda stupid really... why did I bother asking Him?

This is such a great post. It's causing me to put some thought into something I haven't. I would say that since the conclusion of my marriage, I have been single for about 5 years. However, I have dated and even had some "boyfriends" but the relationships didn't have enough longevity to really warrant that title. I think that many times the commitment to that title was premature. So, these days I prefer not to count those relationships and only count the union I had through marriage. It was the only one where I bonded with a man and we were committed to each other (well... we were supposed to be, he had a different definition of that). So, I will say 5 years.
