I've spent a few hours recently in the Bicker and Debate Forum. What irritates me most is people who supposedly have been Christians for years or decades, and yet treat other Christians like fetid scum for disagreeing with them or challenging their assertions. Something's missing there. I like it here... the folks show more grace. :)

Confession? I stayed up until 2 AM playing board games with friends, including our pastor. Redemption? The pastor won the game, though only by one point.

And I chose to spend nearly all of that time in the Bible Discussion Forum, arguing with a troll in a repetitive circle of legalism. By the time I got called into work--the only thing that saved me from myself--I felt even more drained than the time my best friend forced me to watch "Twilight."

So here I am, completely exhausted and humbly crawling back to Singles with my soul barely intact, wanting to beg its forgiveness and promise that I will NEVER cheat on it with any other forum again!!! (At least when things get out of hand here in Singles, we all resort to talking about food... If they tried to do that in the BDF it would simply erupt into an argument of why bacon is obviously The Meat of Pagans.)

I'm starting to think that maybe we've all been exposed to just a little too much legalism!

Very occasionally, I will glance into the Bible forum to see if there's anything interesting. I then stop, turn, and run away because I have no need to abuse myself any further.
There is little good to be gained by going in there...it's just this scene...over and over. The self-flagellation themed director's cut of the movie Groundhog Day.
