First of all, condolences to you and your family, BLB. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened.

1. I just don't understand why we have a thread to list out things which we just don't understand. This must be one of Seoulsearch's evil plans to create some sort of a circular logic that would drive us all bonkers.

2. I just don't understand why there are some kinds of food that are so delicious to the eye but painful to the stomach.

3. I just don't understand why love can blind even the most rational and logical person on earth.

4. I just don't understand why they make fat-free ice creams. That's like having Scotch with 0% alcohol in it.

I just don't understand why I keep drinking coffee in the mornings (maybe it has something to do with getting up at 2 AM for work) even though it gives me nothing but adverse side effects (I'm super sensitive to caffeine, even decaf, and the acid does all kinds of weird things to my system.)

But it just smells so good in the morning.

Plus, I kinda like how it makes me a little crazy for a few hours.

I don't understand why I keep choosing to work on hobbies that stress me out. All I did yesterday during my free time was rip out stitches (and eat rich, buttery, deliciously fat-on-fat popcorn--reference to another thread.) It was literally one stitch forward, 3 stitches back!

I don't understand why I constantly watch bits and pieces of cooking shows, recipes on YouTube, and check out cook books from the library... but never muster up the motivation to actually cook. Although I did make some killer tortellini soup yesterday... but being single, I add so much stuff to it that it resembles more of a casserole than a soup. I'd never actually serve it to anyone else the way I make it. (I would have posted a pic in Catherder's thread but it doesn't look as pretty sitting in a Tupperware bowl.)

Alas, I would LOVE to learn how to knit/crochet but it's on my wish list of things to learn someday. Plus, I'm always warm so I have no need for sweaters, slippers, or scarves... but knit/crochet looks SO cool!!! And I'll bet there are plenty of others here that share your love of loops.

I've been an on/off (mostly off!) garment sewer since I was a kid.

I don't understand why every pair of exercise shorts I see in the stores looks like it's made for someone 12 years old... and are so short that they'd show off half your bum.

Therefore, I am attempting to make my own (much longer) pair for the gym, as well as working on tweaking a pattern for a "regular" pair of khakis that I can hopefully modify for all occasions.
