Ok, so PopClick's "Best Post Ever" thread got me thinking of my favorite THREAD ever, one that Julianna started about a year ago wherein we could ask each other (not TOO personal) questions about our offline lives and experiences. I would bump the thread to bring it back, but since it got majorly derailed toward the end, I'm just starting a new one (that's right, I'm a shameless plagiarist ;)).

So, I figured that since there are a lot of new members now and always new things to wonder about, here ya go! :)

P.S. Keep in mind that just because someone asks you a question here, doesn't mean that you have to answer it. If anything is too personal or just something you don't want to answer, that's perfectly ok.

Julianna: What's the lamest excuse you've ever heard from an alleged perpetrator?

NodMyHeadLikeYeah: Why do you keep playing with our hearts by comingandgoingandcomingbackandthengoingagain? Sheeeesh, woman! :D

Keep_on_smiling: I don't know you very well, but you personality seems to fit your screen-name quite well :). Was there a particular reason for choosing it?

NiceguyJ: What do we have to do to get you to post more, dang it?!? Don't make us kidnap your guitar and hold it for ransom.....minimum 2 posts per day average, or it's curtains for Mr. Stringy. Capisce? :p

Nukepooch: What is the square root of turnips?

Zeroturbulence: How long have you been playing drums? :)

Adekruif: Paper or plastic?

snackersmom: what is your most favorite memory?

greennnice: Is there a story/some history that led you to so fervently hold to 'the lord leads' response?

PC: Is it still God standing between? What is He telling you?

Arwen: if you were forbidden from referencing anything tolkien ever again, could you survive?

Zaoman: How'd you come up with or pick your s/n?

My absolute favorite band for probably close to ten years was called Zao. I needed to come up with an email in 8th grade, so I added a "man", but zaoman was taken, so I added 32. Not as huge a fan anymore but Zao is greek for spiritually alive, so I still use it.

Alas! Yes, I shall carry on with my existence. I would have to change my username, and erase everyones memory on here of me ever being called arwen. Find something else to reference I suppose. The survival of my wit depends on referencing, and without wit, I fear I would become quite dull and plain... the same characteristics of Lembas bread. Speaking of which, did you know that there is a recipe on how to bake it?!

I was curious about Zao's name as well.

Yes, I reference too much. Surprised I don't get the boot ever so often from everyone being annoyed with it lol

Zao- what songs can you play on guitar? Do you play in a worship band?

Julianna- If you couldn't be a redhead anymore, but had the choice of any other colors, what would you pick?

I won't get angry with you yet, since this is the first instance, but I don't play guitar, I play bass...and that is all I can play.
I've only every played for worship bands at churches, and I want to start my own worship band. Outside of worship I practice by trying to play Rush songs, the only one I can actually play all the way through right now is Tom Sawyer, I only know bits and pieces of their other songs.

Snackersmom-same question I got
*Stares at question quizzically* *awkward pause* OH!!! You mean that you're asking how I chose my screen-name! At least, I think so........;) :p

Most concise answer I can come up with and still have a hope of making some form of sense:

Snackers is a ceramic bear I made in a college art class. He seemed to have a lot of personality, so I joked that he was my first child, and a naughty one at that. I tend to blame my mischief on him, but I love him. When I joined CC I wanted a screen-name that had the word "Mom" in it, to help keep creepers at bay. Also, I enjoy being a little bit mysterious....it just seemed to fit. I wouldn't change it, but every now and then I see it in a mass email, and I can't help but wonder....."Why am I so dang WEIRD?!?!"

Snackersmom- your picture has troubled me for sometime, what is it? A bowling ball, a plant, Wilson the volleyball from Castaway's girlfriend?
LOL!!! :D That is Snackers, actually. It was taken on election day last fall, and I had just given him a new 'do. The "I voted" sticker over his mouth was some sort of silent political protest, I think...not really sure. Snackers can be pretty hard to figure out ;) I do need to change the pic., though...I only meant to leave it up for a few days, but just haven't gotten around to changing it yet.

snackersmom: what is your most favorite memory?
That question really got me thinking. Every one that immediately came to mind involved God speaking to me, or working in my life in a very personal way....they're too special to share with more than just a few very close friends.

One neat story that I posted a while ago is definitely a great memory, though..... I'll re-post it in a sec.

Here's the memory I was talking about, and a link to the thread I posted it in:

http://christianchat.com/miscellaneous/32755-he-thought-moment-said-yes.html
<<Hope the link works, my apologies if it doesn't

He thought for a moment, and said "Yes!"

I had an interesting experience recently that I wanted to share.

My family runs a small retail operation on our farm, and last weekend a man came to buy some things from us for the first time. He was very nice, but had a sadness about him, like he was missing something in his life. Somehow, I knew that I was the one to help him find it. So, I waited for the right time, and it came as he was getting ready to leave. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you go to church anywhere in the area?" I questioned him, politely. "No, actually," he responded, "but I have been thinking about it lately. I grew up in the church, and it seems like I should be getting back to it." he seemed rather open, so I asked if he belived that Jesus was his Savior. He considered the words very carefully, and told me that he really didn't know. I responded that I understood, but that if he was curious, he could ask Jesus to reveal Himself to him, so that he would know for sure. I also told him that Jesus was real, and that He loved him very much.

Even though he seemed so open, I was rather surprised when he began smiling and thanking me profusely (most people don't respond to hearing about Jesus with a lot of enthusiasm). I was so surprised, I told him I wished I knew of a good church I could reccommend, but they are hard to find in the area. "It's ok, God can lead me to the right one" he said happily. Somewhat stunned by his exuberance, I said "Certainly. Besides, it's not the church that saves you. Only Jesus can do that." He thought for a moment, and said "Yes!". A huge smile spread across his face. He thanked me again profusely, and we said our goodbyes (his daughters were waiting impatiently in the car). I went about my chores, content with knowing that I had said everything that was on my mind to say, and had perhaps pointed him in the right direction.

The next morning, while I was brushing my teeth (I'm a very pensive tooth-brusher), a part of the previous day's conversation popped into my mind.

He thought for a moment, and said "Yes!"

Now, I don't know these things, only Jesus can judge. Some would call me a heretic for even implying it. But, could it be, in that moment when he said "Yes!", the gentleman reached out and grasped the Hand that Jesus was extending to him? As I said, I don't know, but in my heart I really think so. What I do know is that when he headed for his car, there was a look of peace and joy on his face that was definitely not there when he arrived at our farm an hour earlier.

I guess I'll know for sure one day, but I'm curious what the rest of you think.

Nukepooch: What is the square root of turnips?

The answer is 42. Always 42.

Snackersmom: Your name is Snacker-Smom? What kind of shenanigans is a Smom?

Seoulsearch: Um...something about dating the elderly...Uhhh...Oh, here's a good one. Why do you put up with my shenanigans? Let me rephrase that...Why did you beg/plead to put up with my shenanigans again?

Jullianna: Why haven't you threatened Seoul with legal action (or target practice) due to her negligence in subjecting a whole new group of people to my shenanigans?

Descyple:
Why are you the way you are? (Feel free to ask for more paper if the space provided is not sufficient. Note: The answer "because I'm Canananadian" is insufficient. True, but insufficient. Side note: Canadians are incapable of shenanigans. They're much too nice.)

NodMyHeadLikeYeah: Why do you pull more numerous and much greater shenanigans than I do? I'm quite jealous.

Well, it's past my bedtime. No more shenanigans for today.

No, the answer is THIS:

*sigh* You're slipping.......

Your name is Snacker-Smom? What kind of shenanigans is a Smom?
It's pronounced "Snacker's Mom". Snackers is an art project. He also represents the voice inside I have to suppress. I have to make him behave. Therefore, I am his mother. Please do not call me smom. Long story.

Haha. So threatening. Danging it will not get me to post more.
Cookies...lots of cookies....or I'd just have to have more to say here maybe. :)
LOL, a cookie bribe was my first thought, actually ;). The thought of kidnapping the guitar just seemed more amusing. :D

You prefer paper raincoats over plastic ones? Weirdo. :p

Maybe this one? Can't say that I'm a huge fan of any of the options avail. here, but I'm not complaining.

If I couldn't be a redhead anymore and could have any other shade, I would have to say black. I think long black hair with that beautiful bluish sheen when the light hits it is amazing! :)
