I thought I did once.

It was back in 1993, about 2 years after I joined the mormon church and I kept getting the feeling that the Lord wanted me to move to Salt Lake City, UT. Which is the home of the mormon church.

About 6 months after I moved there, I started seeing what the mormon church was really like. Unfortunately, it took me about 6 years to be able to get out of Salt Lake and another 2 years before I was officially out of the mormon church. Of course, I was going to a Christian c hurch as soon as I got settled into where I'm living now.

I guess Jesus wanted me to experience the mistake I made by giving up being a Christian and becoming a mormon. I am soooo grateful for his grace and forgiveness.
Praise the Lord

Thanks whiteknite. That's good that that you are now experiencing the christian life after all that. I feel like he wants me somewhere else, just don't know where. I've been praying about it, but nothing has fallen out of the sky yet, lol. I know he is listening and watching. He has something orchestrated for me, I'm being tested with patience I suppose.

Wow, you should start a thread on another forum about your experience in the Mormon Church. I used to live in Canada's Mormon capital (well, technically the Mormon capital is Cardston, Alberta, but I don't think Cardston's big enough to be the capital of anything). I've had two good friends who were ex-Mormons. I grew up listening to my mom debate the LDS missionaries that came to the door (I don't think "debating" them does anything). I was asked to give a talk on Mormonism at church once. I find talking with Mormon's frustrating because it's like their reciting things they were taught and it's like they just haven't thought things through themselves. When you ask them something they weren't given a response to in seminary, it's like they don't know what to say.

Anyway, I read a really good book by a Christian called Out of Mormonism by Judy Robertson. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to know what Mormonism is really like. I mean, let's face it, they have a really good image. I've even heard Christians say "I wish we could be more like Mormons in the way that they..." No no no, Christians should not want to be like Mormons in any way at all!!! I mean any way they're not like us.

Hello Peaceseeker,

Could you explain how you heard Jesus' call for you to move?
