I think I learned the true meaning of this verse today (and it has nothing to do with actual kissing or valentine's day)

An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. - Proverbs 24:26

Here's a toast to honesty and sincerity. :)

I have learned that dishonesty will eventually burn you
I have learned that my issues pale in comparison with other peoples
I have learned not to throw my heart to the first person willing to take it
I have learned true love is something more than just an emotion
I have learned God listens and cares even when nothing is going right.

Very nicely put. I've enjoyed this conversation with you :)

P.S How do you now have 2 rep points? Tell me what you know! :p
I've enjoyed the conversation with you too :)

lol, I don't know how I got 2 rep points! Maybe because I've been a member longer? Maybe it's because I'm entirely too tall... it's probably the tall thing.

I learned that one must be careful about promises like ^^this^^, they never seem to turn out quite as good as they sound. :)

Lesson learned: rep power really doesn't mean anything.

An interesting thing I've learned from a friend: if you feel compelled to drink booze, do so alone or among family. Do not drink with those you do not trust because that is enough for you to be accused of being a drunk.

Take advantage of the opportunities life presents to you. Never take a back seat. When the gauntlet is thrown, pick it up. Otherwise, you'll suffer the rest of your life by way of questions left unanswered.

When you find someone of greater ability in your field, befriend them. Contribute to their success.

Your desires exist for a reason.

If we are wise, as we study the scriptures, we learn from both the right and wrong choices made by others in the past. We also know that there is "nothing new under the sun" per scripture. We're all still doing some things wrong and some things right. Seems like it would be wise to learn from those things as well, so I thought it might be a good idea to share situations we've witnessed or personally experienced in an attempt to both encourage and protect one another. Please post your situation/story and what you learned from it, good and/or bad. DISCLAIMER: Please do not post situations about other people from CC. The idea is to learn something, not to gossip or embarrass anyone, right? :)
I learned after 15 years in great bondage to sin and my flesh, that the only way out of this mess called Christianity was to leave the organized church, and seek the truh with the help of the convicting power of the sipirt.
I learned what many in the system called mistakes and faults were actually sins that would keep me out of the kingdom, as I struggled with porn, drunkeness, idolitry, worldliness, complacency, and sitting under and promoting the false saved in sin Bliiy Graham message.
Many disagree with what I post and I understand you have that right, but again, you cannot be in rebellion to God, and think you are saved!
You must find real repentance and faith, and then keep yourself in the love and power of God! God will help as the spirit leads, but when I learned I had to do this first,(repent) I was still IN sin and bondage, and unfit for the kingdom, I had to also relearn the word of God and throw out the pagan teaching of original sin, along with substitution!

He had patiently endured!

Heb 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Abraham was a man of great faith, and for this his faith was accounted to him for righteousness. He patiently endures to the end, which we all are commanded to do!
Here is another fine example of what faith and obedience will produce in the true follower of Christ.
Abraham never questioned God when asked to do something, such as obey from his heart as he packed up and left all he knew and followed the voice of the Lord to the end. And also with great courage and faith offered up his beloved son as a sacrifice, no questions asked, he obeyed from his heart, and God accounted his faith as righteousness, a dynamic, working faith of love and obedience.
Now in modern Christian teachings today, the faith of Abraham is just a mere suggestion to them, where any type of obedience isn’t mandatory, and why should it be since they believe the lie, that Jesus obeyed for them, took their punishment on the cross, and was their substitute, covering them in their ongoing lukewarm behavior, and vile sins. No fear of God, who is patiently waiting for them to repent (stop sinning against Him) and then obey Him to the end for real!
Abraham patiently endured because he loved and feared God will all his heart and soul! He put all his desires behind Him and knew God was a consuming fire, and would give Him the strength to endure to the end.
God never sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to take the place of mankind because they were born hopeless and unable to obey, and endure patiently to the end, to receive eternal life.
Today it’s just confess you are a sinner, you were born that way, obedience is an afterthought that may or may not happen, but absolutely not a requirement to receive eternal life.
You have a choice now, weather to have the faith of Abraham (an active and working faith), and endure to the end with all patients, diligence, and perseverance, that leads to the promise land, or settle with the faith of the demons, who have a form of belief and faith as most who have been deceived have, that leads down the road to perdition.
Heb 10:36 For you have need of patience, so that after you have done the will of God you might receive the promise.
Heb 10:37 For "yet a little while, and He who shall come will come and will not delay."
Heb 10:38 Now, "the Just shall live by faith. But if he draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him."
