I have an Apple iPhone 4s
A Dell laptop. 17" screen, i5 core processor, win 7, and 8 gigs of RAM.
Kindle 3g, non paper white

In April or May I'd like to upgrade my phone to a Samsung. I'm tired of stupid Apple.

I am 88, quite deaf and blind in one eye with over 50% gone in the other. All my friends are dead. Bev left last month, and Betty last week, that was the very last. Once a week I get out of the house for a bible study, and every week or two groceries are left at my front door, or I order from Amazon.

I got someone to buy me a second hand desktop when mine crashed, and I read on a Nook. I WANT!! A LAPTOP!!.

Can any one come up with a way I could justify getting one? I love my desk with my computer, I never leave the house to go anywhere. I finally found a way to get my hair cut, it has taken me two months to find a way!! Maybe I could carry the laptop along to get my hair cut, but what earthly use would it be for me? I could take the nook with all the wonderful books on it.
You can watch dvd's with most laptops. :) (The smaller ones that are 13" or less usually don't come with a built-in dvd player)

I have a Galaxy S4 phone and a Gateway laptop.

I also have an iPod touch that I got back in 2008 from a friend. He sold it to me for $40. He had gotten an iPhone and didn't need it anymore. He had it probably 1 or 2 years before that, so it's about 7-8 years old now? Wow, I didn't realize it was that old until I typed it out. It still works, but the only thing I use it for is music. It's 8G and if I want to put new music on, I have to take some off because I just have too many songs. I "need" more gigs but I am not going to buy something else. First world problems.

Well, I have a macbook pro and an ipad air. That's my capitulation to modern technology. Also in the mix is a seven year old flip phone (not a smart phone) which is still able to successfully complete phone calls. (which is all I need it for so I am happy)

I remember days of yore when I walked around with a pager that beeped and flashed the number of the interested party that called the pager. I then made my way to the nearest land line (because there were no cell phones) and called the interested party.

I have no tv.

Yes you are correct, I am a walking dinosaur. :)

God bless

Bit of a mix here...sitting here at my brand-new beast of a high-performance desktop that I just built last weekend, but still loving my old-school slider phone and 3rd-gen Kindle Keyboard. Got my tunes on USB drive plugged into my car stereo, but listen thru headphones on an 800 y/o Sansa Clipp MP3 player.

Never owned a smartphone, bought a tablet two months ago, then returned it because I didn't use it...And I've never bluetoothed anything...

Meh, you aren't that much of an anomaly. I'm 10 years younger and pretty much in the same boat.

My internet needs are met by a four year old laptop(my first), communication needs by one of two older flip phones (one is personal, the other work) when one of the two dies I'll probably upgrade to a smart phone.

Although I own a TV, up to a year ago it was only hooked up to a VCR/DVD player (a year ago I added a broadcast antenna). IMO cable/satellite is just ridiculously expensive.

My first pager (employer issued) was actually a first generation.......no LED display it just beeped or vibrated.

I have a eMachine laptop and a Samsung smart phone. And a drawer with a few other, older phones in case it dies :p

I never bought a TV when I moved to the UK, and I really don't miss having one. (Apart from occasional spells when I want to play FF)

Interesting.
How many others make use of a desktop?
I own a Dell desktop that's probably around 6 years old, and a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active smartphone. Das it...

Now my teenagers... they have a whole slew of devices that they have paid for themselves. Kindles, tablets, laptop... I am content with what I have, and tend to shy away from new technology unless it serves a specific (dire) need that I have.

I have an iPhone 4S, Galaxy Nexus, Nokia N8 & N9, first generation ipad mini and a Canon S95,

and a desktop computer made of custom parts. The only thing remaining from the first computer I ever bought is the keyboard from 2001.

I haven't had a working laptop in over 2 years. I do everything from my 2 year old Galaxy s7 phone, which wasn't even invented yet the last time this thread was posted in.
