Check out this cool tribute video someone made for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The video specifically uses the scenes from the trilogy involving the "struggles" each character goes through. The song used for the background is "Praise You In This Storm" by Casting Crowns.

A video of one of my favorite songs by Loreena MchKennitt. In my opinion, this should have been on the LOTR soundtrack :) Enjoy!

I'm a LOTR junkie too but I still don't think the movies did the books justice. The guy tried really hard and they were good, but I'm glad I read the books before the movies came out. I'm still mad that they left out Tom Bombadil

I like that video though. Good song

I've only seen the movies (and I enjoyed them) but I'm going to read the books this year. :) I like movies but there's something about getting lost in a book, and books do tend to explain so much more.

Like War of the Worlds. The book actually explains why the aliens started dying, which the movie failed to do and left many confused why they were just suddenly keeling over.

Ya, they really screwed up War of The Worlds. And the Eragon movie was extremely horrible compared to the book. lol. I recommend trying to forget you ever saw the movies (I know, easier said than done) and start with The Hobbit before you start reading the actual trilogy.

My brother in law and I are with you on this one. The character was singular proof of Tolkiens genius.

And I agree about the Eragon movie...horrible.

Oh, thanks for the tip! I haven't seen The Hobbit movie so when I read the book, I'll be pretty safe. I haven't seen the LOTR movies in quite a while either so I actually have forgotten a lot!

Don't even get me started on Eragon! I don't think they even read the book before making it into a movie.

Yep, they really ticked me off leaving that out. Amazing how much one character without a major role can color your perception of the entire storyline.

I don't think I could have butchered Eragon any worse if I would have tried to on purpose

Clearly, I've missed out on a lot by not reading the books. Maybe I'll read them this summer after all *Pictures herself laying on a beach reading LOTR* hahaha. Do you recommend reading the Similarion before LOTR? I am not gonna read The Hobbit until the third movie is out, I don't want the book to ruin the movie by me critiquing it for what was added/left out.

I never read the Similarion. I don't see how it would hurt anything. To be honest, I can't say they left out an extreme amount of stuff in the movies but enough was absent to aggravate me.
