Ok, so I stole the title of this thread from a pretty stupid movie. But it fits well with my post.

Do you wonder if your marriage or relationship is right in God's eyes? Do you wonder if you should date this guy or this girl?

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might." -Deuteronomy 6:5 (NASB)

So lets be frank? Do you put God before your partner? If you don't, it may be time to commit more to God. And you know what? It will make your relationship better! Isn't that encouraging? And if you are thinking about dating someone, ask yourself, "Do I love God above all things?" Think about it. Look at your actions, thoughts, motives, etc. from a objective perspective.

A good relationship starts with a strong foundation. Look at the importance of foundations from the New Testament...

"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on rock; and when the flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great." -Luke 6:46-49 (NASB)

Is your relationship with God built on a foundation that is dug deep and laid in rock? Or is it built on the ground without foundation? If so, remember, "...the ruin of that house was great."

So, how does this apply to being in a Godly relationship? Well, if you are in a relationship, make sure that your foundations are strong and that your love for God is foremost in all that you do. If you are thinking about starting a relationship, make sure that your foundation is in order... If not, in all likelihood, both you and your partner will be hurt.

I definitely need to work on my foundations. Lets all make a commitment to build on our foundations :)

Seriously, perkvine, that is GOOD STUFF !

The wise man doesn't just build his house up on The Rock (Jesus Christ), he builds his relationships, and, let's not to forget, his life. :)
