Our friend Jer2911 posted this in another thread but I wanted to post it here as it is one of the things I love the most about our relationship tourist. That I gave you full disclosure of my life and you still want to be with me. That is love, that we differ on some things and yet are the same on so many more. That we both love God and want to serve Him and live with Him someday in heaven. That even with our differences we still would rather be together than not. I can't wait until November 27th to say I Do.

I love this post and I love you most. I love you too and I will say I do. I believe that I made a rhyme so it must be our time.

I never click on this thread and I did for some unknown reason earlier and read that and it was like God was telling me exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Jer!
You're welcome, Zer!

There are many wonderful residents in this community to make friends and to have meaningful conversation with. I met my future wife on this site. May God direct your path and for you to chose wisely as well.

Hey bro,

I know exactly what your going through. I was a smoker for 6 years. And i to really loved to smoke. I remember people use to ask me, " How can you love smoking? No one likes smoking." But I didn't know what to tell them after that. I really enjoyed it, And I would always tell myself that i would never quit. But then again, before I even started smoking. i would tell myself and other. That I would never start smoking. But I did start smoking. And I ended up really liking it. But now, I am proud to say that i have been smoke free for an entire year and a few months giver take. So i believe you can fight this battle and quit smoking. Cause i was just like you. I realy liked smoking and didn't want to give it up. But I did, So I think you can do it to. I will be praying for ya bro. :)

I am an addict and nicotine is my drug of choice. With the help of God who provided me my helpmate I have gradually reduced my intake to a point where I am no longer a chain smoker. I believe that it is true in that I love to smoke and this is certainly a black mark on my character. I have prayed for God to remove this love of tobacco from me and to deliver me from the pain that I am now in due to the constant withdrawal pains. Becoming smoke-free by Christmas would be a nice present to give to the woman that I love who has stood beside me during this horrible ordeal. I am a clever man and I can rationalize anything but apparently have not faced the truth until this moment. I love tobacco and I hate myself for it. The truth hurts even more than the withdrawal pains and the pain that I have caused to the woman that I love.

Hey bro,

I know exactly what your going through. I use to be there myself, I was a smoker for 6 years. And I to really liked smoking. And people use to say to me, "How can you like smoking? no one likes smoking." And I wouldn't know what to say back to them. And I would tell myself that I would never quit. Cause I enjoyed it so much. But then again, before I started smoking. I would tell myself and others that I would never start smoking. But not only did I start, I ended up enjoying it. So I know exactly what your going through. Cause I went through the same exact thing. But I am proud to say that I am now smoke free for an entire year and a few months giver take. So I believe that you can do it as well. And I will be praying for you during your fight on quiting. And I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Currently, I am smoking 3-4 a day down from 40-50 a day. It has been a real struggle but I have been blessed with a wonderful woman who encourages and comforts me. I am starting to see the light on the end of the tunnel in this vicious journey. I have been smoking for 40 years and I decided that I want to do everything that I can with the mercy and compassion of the Lord to extend my current lifespan beyond what it will be if I do not stop. I appreciate your prayers and I congratulate you in winning your own battle to be smoke free.

My caffeine consumption is another matter altogether but I am living one day at a time to remove that which does not belong in my body and in my life as it is a temple to the Lord that I have defiled through years of abuse and neglect.

Confession: I am rarely able to stay awake until Midnight anymore! This thread sounds exhausting.

Maybe this post should have been in the "You know you're getting old when..." thread?

I confess, I have never posted in this thread at midnight. Mainly because few/no-one would really be on here at midnight, Australia (most are from the Northern Hemisphere).

We are all getting higher in numbers. Feel free to post anytime on this thread as it is always midnight in one part of the world or another. I am not going to change the name as there is always someone who has the courage to show their true colors and respond in kind.

Wherefore Art Thou Sleep?

The older I get the less I sleep......at night that is
I prowl about the house......mostly to sit at the computer and post....
Or to clear out emails that amass faster than I can delete them......
Maybe I should quit ordering stuff from catalogs.......
I have decided that I run on Heaven's time as they never sleep there.....
Only problem being a mortal my batteries do need to be recharged..........
So then the nap at times during the day but only for a few hours
I don't know what it feels like to sleep for an 8 hour stretch........
3-4 and my batteries are charged to the half full level and off again running and doing
Whatever needs to be done....mostly with a smile on my face....but there is the wish
That I could sleep for longer periods of time.....NO PILLS... I just won't do it......
Almost 2AM.....Sleep oh Sleep wherefore art thou sleep?

Praise report.....

There was something that I had to set and appointment on the Sabbath that I really didn't want to do, but I gave it to God and asked Him to work it out for me and I knew He would because He knows I want to show Him Honor and glory and go to church on the Sabbath and not do secular things on that day. I got a phone call that the appointment had been changed to Friday and it was the one and only spot open so I just want to Praise God that He fixed it like I asked and I had the faith that He would make that change for me and He did!!! It is true mountains can be moved if we only believe....

Also got to sing the song I had written Just This Side of Heaven to the hairdresser Monday as he was cutting my hair and we were talking about God and Jacobs beliefs so just thankful for an opportunity to witness and sing for the Lord. Getting all spiffed up to get married in just a few days and that is also worth praising the Lord for!!!

I am not sure if for me that my addiction to nicotine has allowed me to make this my idol or not. One thing is for sure is that I am an addict and nicotine is my disease.

I want to graduate college, but I don't want to go to school.......
I have 2 years of college but I did not graduate. I took a semester off in 1985 and I haven't been back since. As you get older you tend to become bogged down with responsibility. It is best to finish school when you are young. There are many smart and wise people who have never had former schooling. I am a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks.

Messed up so bad today that my dad basically didn't even want to look at me. Sometimes I feel like they'd be better off without me. I know that's a lie but I just feel so worthless when I mess up.
