I saw the title of this thread, thought it'd be about milk, and got really excited.

But, Jullianna, this topic is just as interesting, though a bit less tasty. :)
Oh I know, when I read the title of this thread, the first thing I wanted was a package of Oreos! :D

In my opinion, there is much value in being focused on pleasing God. Apparently that is not an opinion shared by everyone.

"The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband."
Just LOOK at the signature of that girl ! It's highly accretive. What? Don't know what accretive means? Then go read my thread I just did on it yesterday or the day before, ah, my green brains, they t'aint what they used to be :D

Girls ARE accretive to guys, as beagleboyteenteachingaweSomeASIF said, about 'value,' and, IF God puts a girl in your life, don't have a cow, man, just go with it, cuz God is ALL business ! :) With Love And caring and grace And mercy and........ :)

Are there actually men out there who feel that women have no other purpose than to be married and serve a husband? Do unmarried women have no value at all? Is their value to simply wander around the corral until the right bull comes along?

This is not a thread about feminism, so please do not turn it into one. If you want to discuss that, please create a thread for that purpose. As those who have been around this forum for a time are well aware, I am not a fan of feminism and this thread was not created from that aspect. I am honestly trying to understand whether men think this way and, if so, why. :) Thank you in advance for your courtesy regarding the matter.

I think ONE purpose of women can be found in scripture.

When God made Adam, God noticed Adam was lonely and he thought that wasn't good. So, that's when God made women.

Looking at what seemed to be the reason God made woman... This is probably why we hear Pastors say that woman was created for man. Anyhow, I'd say one purpose of women is to be the companion of man. To live with men.

Maybe it can be stretched to say... that women we're made to love men. A sure thing is that one purpose of women was so men won't be lonely.

The comparison is poor... You could pick up a good cow for around $1000-2000, Women are far more expensive...

I'd make a "Stepford Wives" reference, but that would only confuse people and cause a 2 1/2 page derailment, and I would NEVER do that to a thread. :)

Makes you realize how important it is to know your audience, huh? :)

Thank you, Buff, but the question is about the value of unmarried women, not women who live with men or are married to them. :) What value do they have in the eyes of God?

A woman is definitely way more expensive than a cow...
but a woman is much more pleasant to take out to dinner.

: )

Depends on the woman, but a cow is almost always wonderful at dinner.

Its okay my mother thinks that a man's only purpose is to raise a family and provide her with grandchildren.

Such pressure has fuelled some really stupid choices on my part.

I think the other reason why I like being in a long term relationship without marriage (or sex) is people learn to appreciate who each other are as individuals and not for what they bring to the relationship or what can be accomplished in the long run.

I see it as a natural that of course a unmarried woman has more purpose in life.
Maybe she never wants to marry.
She might want to be a nun or just live by her self and have friends.

I would like to assess my finances and travel and settle down realestate when court case over and live in peace.
I admit i long for affection and love and eon and so forth
Do not want to go "one night huggin cuddling" either for sake of "picking up" affection nor is it appropriate to do so with stranger.
Have a man with a woman trying say we are married or he marry me with her and they ruined to many years , death threats and worse things.
They were travelling living luxory, eon etc while i had cancer nor did they care and i was workaholic and they took credit for my work while abusing me and etc, it all to use me and steal from me.
The way they behave is disgusting and violating and as they have wellknown names people allow them to get away with things normal peplum would never get away with and they educated.
Still in court to remove them.

I'd guess an unmarried woman has the value of someone with an eternal soul. Unmarried woman are born with souls that last forever... making them infinitely valuable?

Also, God can use that unmarried woman to reach other souls. An unmarried has more time to serve God, while married women are more busy with their families. This is one way God can use her.

Maybe even being unmarried can help them serve God better. They can relate more to other unmarried women. They witness better to other unmarried woman, maybe.

Remember Paul said that he wished everyone can be like him... unmarried, and if I remember a sermon correctly it was because unmarried people would be able to devout themselves better in serving God. You have more time to fight the good fight. I imagine in God's eyes that's very valuable, eternally valuable.

1 Corinthians 7:7-9

[SUP]7 [/SUP]For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; [SUP]9 [/SUP]but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Unmarried women are precious. God was willing to die for them. So, they definitely have value in God's eyes.

Every person has value where they are at in their life at that moment. God's not going to wait to value me until I am married. Or wait until I have kids and become a mother. If there are always stipulations for being valuable and loved to God, then that is not the loving God that I know.

He knew me before I was formed in the womb. Surely He knows me and loves me just as much now, and that will not change when/if I get married.

P.S. I hope you understand that I was snickering at Catherder's humorous post and not at your post. :)
