Is anyone else dreading it? I don't have any single friends anymore and I really don't want to be a third wheel anywhere. My church doesn't have a singles group. I don't know which is worse, tagging along w/ any of my married friends or staying home alone.

Yes, the holidays aren't enough to remind us how alone we are, so we have Valentine's just around the corner. I was with a group of friends tonight, and I was the only single one. It felt weird. I dread NYE greatly. I'll probably just stay at home and watch movies...alone. I like Sharp's idea of rockin' on CC.

Thanks for reminding us all about V-Day, Wug... :) Yeah... every holiday season... I just basically sit around waiting for it all to be over!

C'mon, January 2... that's the REAL holiday--when you can breathe a sigh of relief and think, "Thank goodness another lovey dovey, bright and cheerful, depressingly alone season is passed by!"

NYE is 'much ado about nothing'
Seriously, its a whole lot of hooplah...
The only time I have ever enjoyed a NYE was when I was living in Fiji cos they celebrate it sooo well over there!! Lots of water fights...not only with people you know, but with people you dont! hahaha...

My NYE will be uneventful...I will be with my 'married with teenage kids' friends more than likely....or with a friend who is a solo mum. Either way, we will probably just sit in front of the TV and go -whoop de doo - its midnight!! hahahaha.....

Gosh, Im a cynic!!

Dont even get me started on Valentines....seriously...that pathetic American tradition invaded our country approximately 15 years ago...even when I wasnt single, I never celebrated it.....yes...maybe I am bah humbug! LOL

my church does a dinner/concert on NYE, but it's over with by 9 so people can still go to their parties and stuff. So at that point, I'll probably be in my pajamas watching movies. :p

I find that Christmas / New Years are the hardest times of the year for me in my Christian walk. My body and mind say i want to do one thing but Gods spirit inside me gives me wisdom not to do those things. I am the first person in my family to know Christ as my Lord and saviour so when i am around my family it makes it hard for me to watch them all drinking and all that. I used to have alot of friends who i would party with but these days the people my age in church think im weird cos all i talk about is Jesus. So its hard i mostly have older friends in church and the only christian friend i have will probably come around and we will intercess for our family and friends who don not know Jesus.
