So, I have tried the whole online thing, where you go on christian dating sites, meet people and they turn out to be weirdos. Even on this site ive met some interesting characters. Not saying all the guys out there are nuts but man.

One story I have is when I met this seemingly nice guy, I talked to him for two weeks then he ended up asking me to marry him. @-@

Im asking you ladies and gentlemen do you have any horror stories of online encounters with the other side of the gender pool?

It would be nice to know I'm not alone in this hopeless online world of being single.

I do brother I don't even look for christian guys online anymore it was stupid when I first started to do it.
I am finally compterble with my singleness it took 20 years, but I'm really am starting to just trust and let God flow instead of me trying to make him flow in my life.

Hahaha, yeah there's a lot of them out there. The first time I joined Christian chat, I set my status to 'married' that scared them away. I normally just stay in the lounge.

I wouldn't call it drama. Drama itself always hints at being obligatory or necessary though it really isn't. Online, there are just too many ways to break the illusion. Turning off the monitor for example.

One one of those Christian dating sites I had someone message me and we went back and forth writing a couple times (Only maybe 2 messages each, not about anything too in depth, just a few sentences at a time)... Until he wrote me a long angry message when I didn't reply in what he thought to be a timely matter, lol. I wrote back saying that I wished him the best but didn't feel his future would include the relationship with me that he told me about in the angry message. He then proceeded to send many messages begging me to take him back... All we had talked about was how the weather was and what we did for livings :S I never realized telling someone where I was from was a commitment, lol!
(It was clear in my profile I was looking to be friends before seeing if there was any potential for something further, if at all)

The cultural and dating expectations through the internet can be super awkward especially when people think they should be the same, because it sounds the same or seems similar. I think the reality of the matter is that Only quality time spent together can be truly meaningful in progressing a relationship.

Body language is truly a major factor in communication and it gets totally neglected on the internet.

lol that's funny.Well, Someone pmed that she has been secretly molested by her own brother. She was seeking for help but all i can offer to her was giving her an advice and prayers. I cannot help her since she's from pakistan. I told her to tell the authorities or her parents about it but she was scared that she might disgrace her family. And what's worse was that she started to like the things here brother is doing to her. Just to make the story short I stopped talking to her coz she was talking sexual things to me which made me very uncomfortable. Btw, i also told the admin about it and she's now banned in cc because there was high chance that she's a guy pretending to be a girl so that she can lure me to talk about sexual things. I dont know if what she told me was true though.

And yeah this week, Some girl from UK also pmed me that she's no longer happy with her husband.Her husband had an illness that prevents him to ambulate so she's the one taking care of his husband. She felt unloved and lonely so she opted to have an affair with his friend. I thought maybe she needed to talk about her problems but then she started talking dirty to me. So i didn't reply to her msgs anymore. I dont know if her intentions are good or not. I'm just freaked out. I dont know if these people are even telling the truth. It's really sad that even here on cc there are perverted people. :(

Sad thing is.....I fell for the same girls/women/guys....whatever they were. I met the same girl online from Pakistan, teling that he brother molested her and she is afraid cause her parents would blame her for not telling it right away and now she seemed to like it anyway. She then started to give me details and asked me if I would like that and stuff like that.

And also a woman from the UK told me that her husband is very cold and that she feels unloved and that she feels like having an affair with a guy from work who treats her like a woman, She asked me if I did things with my boyfriend and if I would like if a man did a certain thing and blabla.

So, yeah.....it's a pity

There's one country in particular, i won't name, but it is a poorer country. The women PM a lot from this country. I used to respond to them, but i finally got tired of them finding out that just because i was American i didn't have a lot of money, and having them stop talking to me. Sorry, but i'm not on this site to be your greencard. I no longer accept PM's from the women in this country.

Yeah, I talked to the 2nd girl you mentioned. I told her I would pray for her, that was it. Good thing she stopped talking to me. There's a lot of them, both men and women. The internet is a scary place. This topic is more of a - online horror, than drama. lol.

I was on one of those online dating sites for the first time last year. On a "you got mail" hype. I was imagining this penpal that I could talk to and maybe, just maybe we would fall in love.

Well I had some interesting conversations with some people but I couldn't shake this feeling that I was in a grocery store, except instead of food... there were guys. The match percentages were more like price tags. It was really awkward.

There I met this guy who I talked to because he left me some hefty notes. He would be all cool and confident until something would happen. I'd take my time replying or I would show lack of interest and he would panic and send me an apology. Another thing was that where he was from people still spanked the birthday kid and he was going on about how he was going to have to play catch up with me 'cause I hadn't been spanked for my birthday. I kind of laughed and then disappeared from existence. In my mind I was thinking, which I should have expressed to him, that there are only three people in the universe who may touch my rear bumper. My mother, my father, and my husband.

Though to give the guy some credit- he wasn't super creepy... just that one conversation went out the window.

I've had a few chats with people who claimed to be women who needed someone to talk with about a problem, but as their questions progressed, they clearly weren't. It's creepy. That's one of the reasons I don't want to PM with anyone I haven't talked with in the forums or main chat.
