I am having a rough day today with withdrawal pains from nicotine. When will these cravings end?
I'd love to blow some sunshine at you and say that it'll be over soon, but that would be unfair to you. My boss quit 20+ years ago when his wife was pregnant with their first child and he tells me that he still gets occasional cravings (usually when someone lights up around him). All that can be guaranteed is that it will get easier as time passes. Obviously, the longer that you've smoked the more deeply ingrained the habit is in your brain and the harder it will be. I'm sure that with the help of the Lord (and your nagging...errrr I mean loving wife):p you'll get through it. :)

I am a nag and I warned tourist I gave him so many outs and he wanted me anyway......I will stop nagging when he stops smoking I will never stop loving him though ever......only he can silence me I long to be silent more than anyone knows. I don't long for him to be silent as that would mean he would no longer be around and that is why I nag - I want him to be around. Thank God for nagging wives. Word to the wise please don't give us reasons to nag.....we really don't like to...lol

I am having a rough day today with withdrawal pains from nicotine. When will these cravings end? I can only thank God that I was wise in never taking drugs. I quit drinking in 1992 and I don't miss alcohol. One day I hope that I won't be missing cigarettes. I have made some bad choices in my life. I am older now, and with the grace of God I will be wiser. Only time will tell my story.
It will get better with time, when you crave a smoke - pray, when you think you have to have one - pray, go for a walk away from the temptation and while you are breathing in the fresh air - pray, be thankful that you have been successful so far and cut back to just 2 a day from 40-50 per day and pray a prayer of thankfulness. Give God the glory and He will give you the victory and pray.

You can do this with God's help and through God's strength, believe it trust in Him and receive the victory that is just within your reach - reach out and take it God is reaching out to you grab His hand and hold on tight never letting go. I am in your cheering section and I have your back. Love You.

As I am getting Higher in Number things are starting to fall apart.....little pains are entering my life and becoming annoying as I am not used to these little pains and want things to work like they did when the numbers weren't so high. Oh I don't have anything that is so painful that I can't deal with it. Just spoiled and used to a pain free existence....Guess I should be thankful and praise God that I am alive and well. So I will.

Thank You Father for another day of life - I ask that you please help me to live it to the fullest and to do things and say things that would bring honor and glory to You. Thank You for all the blessings You have given me and let me represent You well this day. In Jesus Name Amen

Quote for the day: "As I get older, pain becomes an indicator. What does work hurts, and what doesn't hurt doesn't work. If I ever get up one day and nothing hurts, I will know I have died in my sleep."

Sort of like an episode of the 'Walking Dead'.

I started chewing tobacco in the 7th grade which was 1982ish. I had a chew in my mouth almost every waking moment. Sometimes I would eat with a chew in my mouth. On a dare I quit chewing on October 18th 2002 cold turkey. In 2009 I started the process of what became a very painful divorce and in July of 2010 I relapsed. I quit again cold turkey on June 2nd 2013. In my experience, quitting cold turkey is easiest in long run but is truly 3 days In hades.

I have went from smoking 40-50 cigarettes a day to 2. I understand about the pain of withdrawal. Perhaps 3 days in hades going cold turkey is preferable to 30 weeks in purgatory by delaying what must be done rather than prolonging the agony by continuing down the path that I am now on.

I think ultimately you have to do what works best for you and I applaud your fortitude. It must be super tough to go from 50 down to 2. Best of luck to you and I am sending prayers for strength your way right now.

2 a day is like playing with fire......add more fuel and the fire burns longer.....how much longer do you really want the fire to burn? Purgatory not a real place unless you put yourself there.....don't you think it is time to leave imaginary purgatory. Jump straight into the fire add water and watch it go out......Cute huh? Telling you to stop smoking and drink more water at the same time.....lol Nag, Nag, Nag....still looking for the remote to put me on mute......please turn off my nag button l don't like nagging I really don't.....love you honey.....

My wife says that she is feeling a little 'snarky'. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. It may be contagious.

Hmmm, snarky... You should either have fun with it by picking at her, or run very fast away from her, depending on how she gets when she is snarky.

Blondese meaning of Snarky.....the way one feels at the beginning of a cold....nose stuffed up but wanting to run at the same time.....when you breathe in it sounds Snarky.....has nothing to do with my mood.....if that changes then it is safe to say that I am being a witch.....a mean one at that.... So for now it is just snarky...if I go into a full blown cold I go from Soprano to alto and down into bass......lol How low can she go?

There you go Blondese definition of Snarky.....

Oh, THAT snarky. In that case the proper reaction is for tourist to go to Wal-Mart and get some cold-eeze. Or something else with zinc. With zinc and a lot of lying down I have had one day colds. ONE DAY! Can't beat that.

I'm feeling the pain of not living up to the expectations that I set for myself.
