Waiting can be tough.

Invite God to use the time spent waiting to bring Him glory. When we (Chuck and Ashley) were dating, we each used our singleness to prepare for marriage in unique ways. Chuck wrote letters to his future wife. Ashley wrote questions she would ask her future date to ensure that he was a good fit for her. Both of these activities developed through prayer and still strengthens our marriage today.

We have kept the prayer prompts short because we want your focus to be connecting with God about your future spouse.

Ask God to comfort your future spouse in their waiting, filling him or her with satisfaction and delight in the Lord. Pray that God will deepen your future spouse’s love for and commitment to Jesus.

Pray for your future spouse to gain wisdom. Ask God to help him or her make Godly choices regarding friendships, work, and play.

Ask God to help your future spouse resist the temptation to pursue physical pleasures and wait for you.

Pray that God will help your future spouse be forgiving, inviting the Spirit to guide them toward healthy communication, healing, and love.

Ask God to help your future spouse be a good friend, prompting him or her to be a good communicator, perceiving, and addressing the needs of others. Pray that God will help him or her find and build a Godly community.

God bless you all

Or you could do it my way. I just go through life and take it as it comes. If I happen to meet a wife on the way, so much the better.

hmm
could work. What about praying for a past spouse if you are divorced?

I mean they are still alive and could probably use the prayer.

Of course you can pray for your past spouse. Our exes aren’t our enemies

or your present one

But if you dont have a spouse I dont think you have to pray for one. You can pray for your friends instead.

That was basically my approach to romance as well.

My X from my disastrous marriage years ago could certainly be in need of prayer. Of course, I haven't actually spoken to her in years but have deferred to my daughter to keep me appraised of her situation. Maybe my daughter Jackie has prayed for her, but then again, they haven't best of speaking terms either.

we can pray for you mute ex spouse on the singles forum.

She might be single, though single seems to encapsulate anyone...married, divorced, widowed or never married on here. Basically anyone who isnt a twin.

I think also that we need to be sure that wanting a mate is not an idol. I'm not saying it is for you, but it is for me. I'm still praying for a beautiful woman to come home to every day, but I also pray that God helps me to learn to be content in Him alone.

Howdy SingleAgain, and welcome to the forum.

Just be careful about trying TOO hard to find a spouse. You might yourself convincing yourself to see evenly yoked when it's not.

Not that I'm decrying marriage. The whole world loves a lover, as they say.

It's nice to know there's others standing along side of you, praying the same as you, in agreement with other sisters in the L-rd. We can relate to each other, pray with one another, strengthen our Faith. Even if it is over the internet 🙏🏽
