Just seeing if there was anyone out there who was into reading, and if so what?

I got 3 go to authors, all pretty intense:

1. C.S. Lewis
2. J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Charles Williams (NOT the hardboiled crime novelist)

I also dig into some John Eldredge every now and then.

Give Tosca Lee a try... especially the book 'Demon: A Memoir'. So cool

While i'm not a big vampire fan, there was the Jerusalem Undead Trilogy by Eric Wilson, a Christian writer, using the blood of Judas as spawning vampires. Was interesting take on an overdone, otherwise boring topic.

Yeah the vampire thing was killing me, I was a huge Dekker fan until that's where all his circle books went. I don't mind Vampires if they're done well though. The Abraham Lincoln book was pretty cool.

I love to read but I am unable to read anything that has vampires and whatnot in them. I was just talking to someone about this because I am
more of a happily ever after reader. I don't want the couples to break up. There is enough of that in real life. I want everyone to be happy no matter what people have to go through to get to that point. I have actually been into historical books more and more as I get older. It is funny because as a teen I couldn't stand history.

Hey ugly! is that trilogy available from the internet?

That seems to be pretty interesting!

I know this probably doesn't count as reading, but I love Shel Silverstein.
When I was little, he inspired me to write poems and draw.

The Giving Tree is such a sad book though.. I always tear up when I read it.

I also like reading as well. I have as much favorite authors as I have books. I one time decided to read a book by authors who were against Christianity and while they had some ''good'' points. The sole authority they were relying on was Robert Eisenmann. You know it is dangerous also when someone calls Josephus unreliable and tries to say Acts should have mentioned Julius Caesar. Also, that they would try to connect Peter and Paul together like people in some spy novel. That book was called The Dead Sea Scroll Deception and to be good for the environment, I recycled it and hope someone makes a Bible from paper that was used to produce the book. Crazy, anyway here is a list of authors I like, hopefully not an exhaustive list. I am not ranking these authors just listing them.

1. C.S. Lewis

2. J.R.R. Tolkien (can't wait for The Hobbit on DVD)

3. John Piper

4. Isaac Asimov

5. Marvin Rosenthal (who wrote The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church)

6. Rick Warren (his Purpose-Driven Life)

7. Lee Strobel (his book The Case for Christ is very helpful)

As for other authors I read, it deals with science fiction. At one time, I was obsessed with UFO stuff, but I think God my attention and indicated for me to stop that. Also, I like the book by Hybels called The Contagious Christian. Finally, I have only read one chapter of the first Left Behind book by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins (while I don't agree with dispensational tribulation or whatever it was ). God bless you all and keep the faith.
