Nothing wrong with romancing your loved one. Women can (and SHOULD) ''romance'' men too. A relationship is supposed to be reciprocate. What you call romance might vary from a woman's perspective and a man's perpective, but it's still romance.

AAAWWWW.

See, now leaving a little card like this in his lunchbox would be romantic.

Along with taking him to the newest sci-fi, blow-em-up, he-who-has-the biggest-gun-wins action film later on that evening. :D

Hate to say it but all veins connect to the heart, and every finger has veins in it. ;) If u don't believe me, cut one and see what happens. On second thought, just take my word for it. ;)

Not a fan of the r word....................Literally, it's on a list of words i hate.

Someone making a fuss over me makes me uncomfortable, i dont like big displays of (for lack of a better word) mooshy stuff.

All the things guys do that are supposed to be " romantic" seem so.... old. Theres nothing new about any of it, nothing exciting.

Men have been giving women flowers, candy, taking them to fancy schmancy resturants for like ever and ever. How does any of that say, i like you or your important to me, or whatever feeling your trying to convey when he's probably done those same things for how many other women...

I dont even like flowers, but i love books. I'd much rather a guy give me that.
I'd rather be given Alien vs predator or have him watch the latest episode of finding bigfoot on animal planet with me.

Bottom line i dont believe in romance. I think if you wanna show someone how you feel about them, do the stuff they like to do.

So this would be your ultimate romantic gift?

Someone brought up the issue of romance in another thread. It made me think.

As a man, I have no desire whatsoever for a woman to try and romance me. There isn't even a little dim flicker of desire in the nether regions of my heart that has the desire for some woman to try and romance me.

Is this a guy thing?
Are there guys who like to be romanced by a woman?
If so, why?
And what would you consider "romantic" of her to do for you?

I'm not against a guy being romantic to a gal. Actually i'm quite fond of the idea, because I think in general women want to be romanced. It's just part of the song and dance of relationship between a man and a woman.

In fact I think romance should be a one way street. It's the mans job to be romantic. I mean if the gal wants that kind of thing.

Your thoughts on this topic?
What's your world view on this?
I like to be romanced, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
I think it has to do with love languages- how we like to show our love and how we like to receive it. It can be different for everyone, and not subject to a particular gender. If anyone knows about Love Languages, my dominant language is Gifts, followed by Quality Time :)

You might be onto something there.. I also don't care if a girl tries to "romance" me... sure girls can try... but I dont care still

I think its sorta like how girls... want love and have an emphasis on it... while guys dont have such a high regard for it.

Yeah

I like romance as in songs dedicated, lame poems and stuff at times,,,, but really in teeny doses or it becomes to much, I would prefer a guy to be my best friend instead of the sap, to be able to talk about anything deep and laugh, about anything no matter how inappropriate it is lol (no pc) ... share all the dirty secrets.. ya and flowers arent my thing either, nor is valentines day, its a pain in the rear really.

Although...if a gal bought me a new Macbook or Apple product...I would get butterflies.
If a girl bought me a new Windows computer I'd get bugs.

Baked goods are always a winner.

Bottom line i dont believe in romance. I think if you wanna show someone how you feel about them, do the stuff they like to do.
Dunno if I agree with the rest of your post (although I can see your point) but I do like that!

If I was in a relationship I'd need her to show she loved me... that could be in so many different ways though and not necessarily romantic.

I dont know but in some in cultures the girl has to do the first move. Like in japan, they have to woo a man that they admire. It's kinda sad that women are becoming more forward and some are willing to make the first move. Our society sped up. Nowadays, guys dont court girls anymore. What happened to the times where in a guy would ask the girl's parent's permission to court her? Idk. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

I don't get it why some girls don't want to be courted. Hmmm...Don't they want to be pampered? lol. They find it humiliating if a man wants to pay for their dinner or they think it is degrading to wait for him to cal. Sometimes I wish I was born during the medieval times. Lol.

My cousins and I were talking a few years ago about what romance means to us. For two of us, we were single, so it was more of flowers, and doing sweet little things. But for my other cousin, who was married, it was more about her husband doing the dishes every now and then, or just holding her when she's sick.

And Dliz, I'm sorta with you. Maybe not so much the Medival days, but say like the 40's.
