...........I had been desperate to find the right woman, but in that situation I found, rather than always asking God for the right person.........It has been better to ask God to help me love Him more. Along with thanking Him He HAS (past tense), poured out His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit- Rom 5:5.

We love because He first loved us- 1 John, so asking Him to help us love Him, others and ourselves with His love. Loving ourselves (in a good godly way) is important, so we can love others as we love ourselves.
There's a wordly proudful love that says look at me I'm so great on my own, and a godly love that says, I am fearfully and wonderfully made, a precious beloved adopted son of the Most High God! I love God's work, the weaknesses and the strengths!

It made me realise in some cases I was talking to women mostly on a 'potential wife' basis, but now with God's love I enjoy talking to women more, acknowledging the beloved children and sisters they are.

There's no one set prayer for every situation though, maybe God wants you to pray to find a spouse at the moment........ So let the Spirit lead you in your prayers (and everything!), be being filled Eph 5:18, and lead by the Spirit, Who lives inside you. Now there's an awesome thought :) selah (pause, and think of that)
