Are you saying Sally Fields missed her calling? She was great in Steel Magnolias. I know there will
be some who think I may need to consider turning in my man card, but that movie was hilarious.
I don't recall Steel Magnolias very well, though I know I've seen it. She has had a number of really
good roles, and I have been watching her since she played Gidget for one season (hard to believe
it only lasted that long!). But, I would not necessarily classify the flying nun as one of them LOL

Agree. But alot of shows during that era were very predictable. You should watch Steel Magnolias again. It was very funny. Her character wasn't the best. The 2 older ladies were hilarious. I can't remember their names right now. Olivia Dukakis might have been one of them.
I'd watch it again but I am already getting security alerts on my man card line.

Yeah. It was a great cast. And the writing and acting was phenomenal. Ahhh...another alert.
They're all wonderful... and Diane. Though she was not in that .:). And Meryl, of course!

I rarely watch movies that aren't intriguing or has things blowing up so I was surprised I liked it. It was probably the humor I liked best.

I like intrigue but can do without too many things being blown up. Boom. Well, except for this big bada boom:

See. Even talking about it is exciting. Also, another good movie.

I lurved that movie, and watched it many times. Contact, also... and Star Gate .:D

A well done sci-fi series I saw on Netflix a while back was called Salvation .:)

Don't Look Up was along the same sort of story line but from a completely different angle...

Meryl was in that ^

No, no! I have admitted to being a big bada boom fan. That is different
than not caring for things being excessively blown up LOL

Plus, Bruce was hilarious in that movie .

Big Little Lies was pretty good and it had Meryl Streep in it. Sorry just being random. It had an ensemble female cast

I mostly remember Sally Field playing Forrest Gumps mother.

Julia Roberts was the standout in Steel Magnolias, though shes good in nearly every movie shes been in.

With all the online dating services these days I would think that playing the numbers game would eventually pan out. :giggle:
