I'm bored. What should I do today?
Thank God for the day, and be content or learn to be content in all things. For through boredom is a gateway to the flesh to take control, and cause disharmony with one self and possibly others as well.
Only God can show you this as you are growing in his amazing grace, being matured as you fail, we can learn if we will look to learn and thus start the maturing process, and be thankful that God will never leave us nor forsake us, from the first day we decided to truly believe.

God is good, I pray, always, His will is done; I'm praying for His hand on my mom, that she can see Him at work in her life. She seems more open to Him now, that is good, she's got cancer for the 5th time now, in last 25 years, praise God, He's got her through it so much, He is Lord. This time is the only time I've heard she has a 25% chance to live, they'll try chemo for two months and if that doesn't work then nothing will. I appreciate your prayers, and, hope you do know, I pray for you ALL all the time on here :) The Lord leads :)
All in prayer for you with your Mom, and when her time does come to go home to God, trust God in she will and see to welcome her to her new location, holding onto God and thanking God for his amazing Mercy to us all
I have had Sister, Dad, Brother and Mother all have gone home to their new location. I used to mourn a lot until God got it across to me to welcome them all to their new location, in place of hoping that they will rest in peace, fro in God's Kingdom they are at rest
AS Paul said to die is gain, yet wait on God for our time, and in the meantime by Faith, consider ourselves dead to the old man and alive to the new one God gave by the resurrected Christ to walk in daily
All In Love to you Brother

I was in Chicago all day on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and I had a great time (and we walked about 12 miles) but I was stupid and didn't put on sunscreen. My arms, forehead, nose, and part of my neck are sunburned. You don't know how much you move your forehead until it hurts to do so.

But, it made me think that I want Jesus to be like that in my life. I want people to be able to see it, to feel it (my skin is a radiator right now, a friend whose hands were cold last night used my arms to warm them up), for me to tell them how it happened and what it's done. I don't know, just a weird connection I made.
God does work in mysterious ways and we that listen do learn and are peculiar to the unsaved, yet all in all somehow God knows what God is doing, all I found is to be is a willing vessel for God to use as whenever God wants to use me. Kind of the same thing as a water glass. A water glass is my vessel to use as I see fit whenever KI decide to use it.
If only we could all learn this analogy of the water glass and be the same to God as a water glass is to us, there might be a lot less confusion, or none at all. Just something for us all to consider, in trust to God

Please pray that God brings us a suitable house. We really need this. It'd be very much appreciated.

So I've quit playing Minecraft for the time being. I think what it mainly came down to was 1) I can't make anything look good and 2) I always have ideas for big projects but it takes too long to finish them, and I don't have the patience for it.

I'm perpetually living my life on long-term mode. I'm working a part time summer job to hopefully make enough cash for college. A long term investment. I'm going to college to learn what I need for a job. This will require at least an additional year of schooling. So that's another long term investment. I want to be a Bible teacher in a church but first I need to be a Christian long enough to learn what I need to qualify for teaching. Again, a long term investment. I'm single because the dating scene in my area of the States is crap, and in any case I don't want to settle down until after college. Meaning, I'm looking at the long term in that realm as well.

So much long term... I wanna have stuff happen now. And dangit, having two of my three main hobbies (writing and until recently, Minecraft) be long term are... boring. I've resolved the writing issue by switching to short story writing. As for Minecraft, the best is probably just to not play it.

My third hobby, incidentally, is programming. Oddly enough I don't mind investing a week or two on a project because I know what's going to be at the end.

Lately I've been learning the wisdom in the phrase "start small."

I love it when people think I said "Gays should die" when I was simply stating how trapped our society is in sin and death, and how much they promote it, whether they call it "just two people loving one another," or the best TV show ever, or the best band alive. Then I posted Romans 6:23

That's human psychology for you. We all have personal opinions, beliefs, and so on, which subliminally make their way into affecting how we perceive what we read.

Good week so far: A shift opened up and I am switching my hours so that I won't have to work weekends anymore, and its more hours. Also, I FINALLY getting my wheel bearing fixed in two days. And I am going out with my parents for a dinner and a concert on Friday. It will be a wonderful night :)

The church I used to go to my MOPS (Mom's of preschooler's group) is now going to offer a family experience this fall. Instead of just having the women, it will be the women and men. It will also include older children. I'm very pleased about this. I liked going to MOPS but I've outgrown it. Some of the current MOPS Mom's aren't happy and I understand missing that group. But I think if they gave this group a chance they would like it. Those little MOPS groups with just the women tended to break up into clicks. There were times that I felt a little left out. And after my kids were little I started not to relate to the material anymore. I hope this new program will be a good fit for my family and me.

My roommate for this semester of college is going to be an international student from China. I feel ambivalent about this. My main concern is his English comprehension. If he has good understanding of English, then things will be good. If not, I may have to spend a lot of time trying to help him understand things. I'm not overly excited over "learning about a different culture" but since he comes from China, inevitably a little learning is going to happen. I'll probably try to pick up a few basic Chinese phrases and learn a bit about their holidays. Just so we have a little more of a middle ground to meet at. And I'll likely try to understand a bit about his culture so I know what to expect.

The top three religions of China are atheism, agnosticism, and Buddhism. So that will be interesting. Last year I was really nervous because I thought I was going to have an atheist roommate. I guess it bothered me because I've had my share of run-ins with hostile atheists. But it turned out my roommate was a Christian. This year I'm pretty much guaranteed to have a non-believer as a roommate and I'm not particularly bothered. As I see it, I'm just going to do the various things I normally do, and if he wants to discuss it then fine. Otherwise I won't push the topic. I won't shy from it, but I don't see a point in trying to force the topic. I don't quite have the conversational savvy for that, anyway.

I just got back from the little store here. The cashier (who drives by my house every day) said, "You guys have done a lot of work on that place! It reminds me of a little cottage in an enchanted forest."

And that...makes me smile. It's always nice when someone sees what you're doing and gets where you're going with it.

She also said, "Do you like, EVER raise your voice? Every time I talk to you, I can hardly hear you."

That also makes me smile...because she hasn't heard me yell at the deer or June bugs around here.

A fellow vet and I were talking about superglue - did you know it was used in Viet Nam to hold wounds together long enough for transport to a hospital for stitches? Weird as that sounds, it was originally some chemicals Kodak was messing around with to make clear plastic precision gunsights. That was in 1951 and it didn't work and it sat on a shelf for years. Next thing you know it was keeping guys from bleeding out in war or holding up that guy by his hardhat on a steel beam on TV. Same with wallpaper cleaner that came out in the 30's. Nobody bought much of it and wasn't needed anymore until a teacher used it in her classroom for modeling clay. Play Doh was then born.

I guess it made me think about all us folks out there that are feeling a little unused right now. Useless. Maybe we've even been sitting on a shelf for quite a spell after we found out the thing we thought we were here for wasn't that thing at all.

Could also be that God had His purpose for us and right around the corner you might be saving a life or two; I might be holding a man up from falling. Those things we thought were useless and set away became indispensible.

So, I found out this morning we aren't moving. Mom is going to have to recover where we live right now.
