Awwwww!

When I was a kid mom always had at least one cat. Many a night I went to sleep with a cat purring on my stomach.

I can't sleep on my back anymore without waking myself up snoring, but when I went to visit mom her cat Diamond slept by my pillow all night. Second night I was there in the middle of the night he moved down to right behind my knees... then I turned over... then he moved back up to beside the pillow.

I never had a cat until this May. His name was Mister Moustache. He was a stray/outside cat. He was one of the sweetest cats I'd ever known. I took him with me when I moved, and he became an outside cat there, too. But then...about 2 weeks after we moved in, he got ran over. :( I cried so much for so many reasons. I loved him so much.

Then, my other kitty Titan came along. He was 3-4 months old when I got him. He is mostly white, but has charcoal along his back and on the top of his head. He wasn't love at first sight. He was incredibly whiny and loved to use his claws (I didn't know what to expect never having a kitten before). I still have a faint scar on my arm from where he's scratched me once. But I started to love him, and how much he loved playing and honestly...he'd whine because he wanted our company. So now I know that, I'm letting him be in more rooms of the house (he was limited to the basement until he couldn't be in the basement anymore due to my sister's fiance's cat and my cat not getting along). My room has been messy ever since the yellow jacket incident (I tore my room apart, making sure every single one of the buggers was swept away by the vacuum. Though I'm still finding bug carcasses) but I decided to start cleaning it up and keeping him with me in my room or whatever bedroom he wanted to be in, or the office (he can't be in the main living area most of the time because of the dogs. He avoids that area like the plague anyways because of the dogs.) He seems much happier spending the night in my room (I keep his water and food in there now, and every couple hours I take him to the garage where his litter box is).

All this kitty talk is making me sad! :( When I was a kid, I begged, cajoled, pleaded, and finally convinced my parents to get a cat. Actually, we tried having two at different times; one inside, and one who stayed in our garage.

And this would be how I found out I am allergic to cats. Even when the one was only staying in the garage, I developed a constant, smoker's-like cough and hack that would not go away, even though I've never so much as taken a puff off anything. My eyes would burn, water, and sting constantly as well.

I'm not interested in taking pills or getting shots, and so, a fur-less household has been my best option. If things were different, I'd get two kittens so that they wouldn't be lonely. I've always wanted a lap kitty. I envy people with friendly, loving cats. I had to go to someone's house for a study group in college, and I seriously considered catnapping their kitty in my backpack. I'm convinced he was a dog in disguise--even in a circle of 15 strangers, he came up to each of us, nudging us gently (no rubbing or sniffing, just a gentle "cat hug") and insisted that he introduce himself to us individually. He would then flop on his back and wait for us to rub his tummy.

I am secretly hoping that I will meet friends in the future who have a cat or two that I can visit and buy toys for.

Sorry to hear you're allergic. :( I totally get the shots (I HAAAAATE needles). Though essential oils are great for allergies if you ever did want something to help those allergies, and most over the counter allergy pills are super tiny. :)

I've heard hairless kitties are cool!

I think I've been looking up ideas for Halloween decorations for too long... (No, I'm not into the gory, weird, or supernatural stuff... I like things such as lighted pumpkins and my ceramic Mickey Mouse jack-o-lantern).

Anyway, I just did dishes and some of the soap bubbles... I kid you not... clumped together on a cup and formed the shape of a skull!! There are even two larger bubbles in the middle that form the "eye sockets"...

FREAKY!!!

I got some fall decorations going recently. Bought some glittery pumpkins from Walmart, bought a garland. They look so nice. I may not be much of a girly girl, but I am in love with glitter.

On a completely unrelated note, I need one of those filters for my shower. My skin is getting so dry, and the weather is getting drier, which means my skin will be even drier...oh man. This is bad.

lil, when you get out of the shower, pat yourself dry with the towel. Don't rub, because that will dry your skin out even more. Patting your skin retains more moisture. Also, use baby oil afterward to lock in the moisture. Try using soap/body wash with something like shea butter in it, too. :)

I put him in my room again last night, and he did muuuch better. I think he's starting to learn that lights out = bedtime which = no playtime which also = not the time to attack my feet. Though he loved laying beside me or in my window. lol I need to change the screen to just glass because it's getting too cold to have the screen part down.
He probably thought there was a skunk under there & he was gonna kill it for ya, LOL!:p

lol! It is demon possessed for me. :p Hard water = no bueno. My hands practically turn to stone with the combo of Dawn dish soap and hard water. It's awful.

Fortunately, my soap bubble demon possessed dish water has now popped and dissipated. (Nothing like ceiling fan exorcism.)

Lil--you've probably already tried this, but do you wear gloves while washing dishes and doing chores? It makes all the difference, believe me. It's awkward at first but now I hardly ever do any water chores without them. If I don't, my hands crack and peel.

Avon's Silicone Glove hand cream also helps, as well as Jergen's Ultra Healing variety lotion, and neither is all that expensive (when compared to Curel and some of the other brands that dermatologists recommend), and, in my experience, even more effective.

I know this sounds kind of 'meh' but I'll say it because this is how I feel..
With the whole concept of being in the world and not of the world I feel like as the world takes advantage of you for following the Lord it is hard to be both salt and light. Especially salt. Because light is a lot easier and people are more willing to gravitate to that, even if they are in a strong sense of delusion (because they have the ability to make further excuses) or to be able to abuse the grace that God gives.

But salt.
Salt is a different story.

Salt is stepping on peoples' toes and asking uncomfortable questions.
Salt is going up to people and when they do injustice to you, to not take it personally,
Salt is to be bold and to somewhat from the outside to look like someone who may be a little uptight.
People are going to judge you even when your convictions are justified through the Lamb's blood.
Especially then.
This week I was somewhat evangelizing at work to a couple of coworkers and the topic of hell came up....
I was really uncomfortable and I like to be accurate on the topics of the bible, I mean I told them about Jesus being the 'way truth and the life no one comes through the father exept through me."
But hell I was like "You know what happens if you reject Jesus, right?"
I felt like I should've just said it instead of insinuating it...especially because of the gravity of that.
To take the whole concept of hell, just because you don't want to make people feel uncomfortable or have to deal with a conversation like that....that is just pure laziness. hahaha. (I will have to prepare for more uncomfortable moments in the future...
---I just feel like I need to be more salt... especially when it seems that things are going too smoothly.

I actually haven't tried gloves. Thankfully, we have a dishwasher now so I don't have to do as much hand washing items. :)
