As I read the posts on slavery, the funny thing is (not ha ha funny, but you know...), slavery still exists today, just in different forms. We never fully got rid of slavery. Not even in the retail or food industry. Programs like Fair Trade are making awareness of it, but there are still a lot of people that don't know. Lots of major brands do it. And then they get shipped to our local stores. Which is why I'm going to be more careful in how I buy.

And don't get me started on the sexual slavery...ooooooh that stuff makes me mad.

I wonder if it would be worth the drive (and therefore gas money) to head into town JUST for a frappuccino?

I guess that depends on how much espresso I have them put in it. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

God's kindness brings us to redemption. If you're hearing any other voice than the one that says, "I love you too much for you to stay where you are, let me cleanse your heart," then it's the wrong voice.

God keeps impressing on me about how we are the hands and feet of God. What we do should reflect Him. How we need to love people into the Kingdom, and we love because He first loved us. Something's gotta change, church, because instead of progressing, we've been regressing, and I don't exclude myself.

Redemption was supposed to be repentance....but you know what, they BOTH work. :)

Public Service Announcement:

I'm going to be needy and weird all week. My husband's job takes him away from home one week a month, and that week for this month is happening now. And because I spend the majority of my time at home and not out in the world interacting with other adult humans, y'all here are my human interaction source.

I apologize in advance.
...kind of.

seoulsearch: I stopped there for a while, but I moved on down the road to Insane. And once you get to Insane you can't go back to mere Crazy.

But while you're in Crazy, do stop by Joe's Crab Shack. It's right behind the Crazy 1st National Bank. Best hushpuppies EVER!

Christmas was awesome and has left my house looking like a tornado hit it. But only on the inside, I mean. Because the house itself is still standing. And I don't know why I clarified that, because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here posting about it if my house Wasn't still standing...though...maybe I would. 75% of this paragraph is pointless.

I got a bunch of new painting stuff- a great big wooden box full of it. Watercolors, acrylics, and oils, plus pastels and new brushes and canvas board. The only thing it didn't come with that I desperately need is a teacher, but then, there's always Youtube.

I tried looking into taking an art class locally, but so far there's been nothing and more nothing and probably will be a whole lot More nothing until spring, when the folks around here come out of hibernation and start functioning again. So for now, I'll keep doing what I've been doing and wasting paint and canvas, but this time with the help of some instructional videos that may or may not be any good.

My mom gave me a beautiful, quilted bag, handcrafted by Nepalese women (it says so on the tag!), and I think it's the perfect place to store my paints and pastels. I'm pretty excited about this.

Oh! OH! And my Christmas roast beast (er...elk roast...) turned out delicious. I discovered that I actually have a wild game cook book in my cupboard, and thought it would make sense to crack it open and use it for once.

I have now stopped typing and walked away from this post three different times and have forgotten where I was going with it, so this seems like a good time to give up and eat dinner.

I have actually been to a Joe's Crab Shack before... I probably had a burger, if they serve them, I can't remember. I'm not a huge fan of seafood. And I've never had a real hushpuppy, I think, at least, not a good one.

I am totally up for trying though!!! Sour dough bread, dark chocolate, and Joe's Crab Shack it is!! (All after a stop at the bank.)

Just be sure to call off the dogs (or lynxes) who live under the porch...

I'm fragile and must be treated with care.

The plural of lynx is lynx, and they are not likely to live anywhere near a human's house or land. I have two dogs, but only one will bark, and he wouldn't bite. He only barks because he knows it is his job to let us know an unknown person has arrived.
