Oh, what the hey. I'll probably take this down in a few days or so.

This is a few short excerpts from 1 progressive metal tune written around 11 years ago. All sound and video work is mine. All the animations of artwork(not the artwork itself), and save for the rain at the end were created by me. It isn't typical of my normal output, but is a genre I write in.

These are excerpts only. The full version is 99.9% done, but I've been lax on finishing it and uploading it to a host using a real name. It's taken me over 40 hours just for video work.

Did you know we only have a 5 minute editor? If you want it down, you'll have to grab a mod

The guitar sounds like a Slayer 2 preset. And I recommend RoomMachine for a good freeware ambient 'verb.

Yes, I'm aware. That's why it's linked to a photobucket account. I'll just delete it from there in a few days. Thanks though :)

Correction to post #38042. I'm not sure why I put 11 years. The full version of the excerpted tune was composed in 1999.

Cordless phones get lost too easily. You should get one of those new phones like my grandma has. It has a cord attached to the wall so you won't lose it! =^.^=

I didn't use any presets, but honestly the audio was rendered from the original midi file quite a few months ago before I started working on video, and I do not remember exactly what I used. RoomMachine eh? Another to put on my list, thank you.

Throw that MIDI file into a sequencer that can host VSTi and put DVS Guitar on it. Try Juicy77 for a good amp sim. (But it won't show as Juicy77 in your sequencer's FX list, it will show as "High Gain Amplifier."
VST Instruments
(Ignore everything but DVS Guitar, the rest are not realistic at all)

Juicy77 - BTE Audio

Those are all freeware, for the record. If you want something more expressive and are not averse to paying for it, RealStrat is pretty good. But although it comes with amp sims, I'd still use Juicy77.

Hmm... Looking back over my recent posts. I swear I'm not trying to be a know-it-all. You got me started talking about music and sometimes I don't stop. Sorry for the music nattering.

But I do think it would sound better with a more realistic guitar...

I've been writing music for a very long time, and using computer assisted tech for sound rendering from midi, but it certainly doesn't mean I can't still learn things from someone else. I appreciate your input on this and the Linux stuff. It's been helpful, THANK YOU.

Wondering why people are always telling me what I can't do. Probably explains why I am always telling people what they can do and offering encouragement along the way. Started in high school with my guidance counselor laughing at me when I asked about applying to college in my junior year. She told me that I didn't have the grades or ability (oh yes she did) and that I should go to a secretarial school and marry a man!! I'm not THAT old so this happened at an age when it shouldn't have. Not only did I go to college but I managed to graduate and go on for my masters. Halfway through undergrad I needed to take a year off and my uncle told me I would never go back. Obviously I did.

I told my cousin I wanted to pursue a particular job in a certain field that is unique lets just say and she laughed at me and rolled her eyes and just said ok. My mother who witnessed this had the pleasure of answering her question 3 years later when asked "how's -insert name here doing?" that I was fine and had been working in X position for the past year. I was blessed to work there for 8 years before I decided to move on but the point is people have always seemed to go out of their way to tell me what I can't do.

Recently I was told by the owner of a local yarn shop I shouldn't even attempt to do this one pattern because I had never used two of the techniques before. Probably out of stubbornness, I finished the little project this weekend by leArning these two techniques (gotta love you tube) on my own. It was a challenge but it's not rocket science.

The recent example is a small minor one but I spent time on Sunday thanking the Lord for all my blessings but more importantly the wisdom to ignore those who can't for whatever reason lift people up. Also thanked him for making me so stubborn.

Wow. Good on you, sister! That's something I'd like to aim for. If people tell me I'm not good at something, I usually give up. Now I feel like I need to learn more persistence. It's going to be a long and difficult journey, but it should be worthwhile.

oh lolz...that guy singed up here soon after I started becoming active in this place again. I wonder if he did so just to look through posts.

I wonder if we'll have an altercation...and I'll be like "have you come here to torment me before the appointed time??" in my most strained and painful outburst, and he will smile and say smugly "come out of him" with a flash of his Christian Cape. "Now Begone, foul Stravinsk - haunt OUR forums and OUR religion no more!!!!" And then I will cower and reveal my wolfy teeth and nastiness, showing that, in the end - it was all true. Stravinsk was a true madman and devil of the interwebs and MUST - BE - CAST - DOWN to the pits of hell where he belongs.

And where there are no internet maidens to save. lololololololozzzzzz

*Lynx scratches absently behind an ear with a hind claw and puzzles over the recent outburst...

So Stravinsk, what I can gather from your post is that someone used to berate you on the forum. And shortly after you returned to the forum, so did he. And you anticipate he will resume berating you.

Correct?
