I totally feel your pain, ntw. Years ago, I was once locked into a situation in which I moved from one place to another but had to pay rent on both places for 6 months. I was grateful that God was with me during that time and helped me make the payments.

Not to sound like some kind of ultra-zealous poster who sweeps in and gives a lot of overly dramatic religious talk, but I wonder if the reason we have to pay such high prices for freedom (wars, families broken apart, human casualties, etc.) is because God's own payment for our freedom was so high.

After all, everything in this world is modeled after God's own examples.
Awww, but I love it when you sweep in with ultra-zealous posts!

You are on to something though. God's payment, of his son, was for our sins. The reason why things exist the way the do is undoubtedly a result of sin as well.

Annoying, isn't it? I understand your frustration.

In Norway, most places have at least one months notice , maybe more so if you leave on the day, you have to pay for that extra month. (Rent is normally between 350 and 700 dollars a month , more if you want something roomy. Not fun when half the available jobs are only temporary and you risk working only two months. (in addition to the lease, there is the matter of deposits, normally equal to 1-3 months wort of rent).

Maybe we should just build ourselves a hut in the forest?
The temporary jobs thing would definitely make things even more difficult, especially if the jobs aren't in the same city. Even in the city, that would lead to a bunch of travel, which of course has associated time and cost.

A hut in the forest sounds appealing. I grew up in the woods... Someday, I hope to have my own land, and possibly build a house. I imagine there are plenty of "locked in" details related to land ownership as well though. And now I sound really pessimistic. In reality, I am very blessed. The fact that I am able to set aside money so I could leave if that eventuality came up is something not everyone has, much less an apartment with a ransom to even live in.

And this is that infamous ntw1103 humor we've all come to know and love!! :D

Okay, my email signature (at work) clearly has my name spelled correctly on it. Why do people reply to me, giving me a completely different name. Example, if my name was Bob (its not) then they are replying with "Dave, thanks for getting back to me....." How do you mess that one up?
I've had that happen. I have someone at work who I've told him my name several times plus I wear a security badge with my name and picture on it and he calls me Ashley or his personal favorite is Cassandra. He actually started calling me by my name about two weeks ago and he is British so my name sounds so cool with his accent lol

Why is it that every time a big time criminal is in the news, every news outlet has to plaster a huge closeup of their face on their front page or tv screen??? It's so annoying.

What to do when you feel down but you know that the feeling will pass, and that you either have to wait it out or find something to make you feel better, but you know that feeling better is just as temporary as feeling down and you conclude that it doesn't make a difference either way and so you just choose to feel down anyway because that's where your heavy heart leads you, but you remember that the heart is deceptive and that you just have to take the feelings out of the equation, and all you're left with is faith? Hmm actually it's not that bad at all. But the time it takes to get to that conclusion... the burden of knowing can drive people nuts!
