Hmm I have not read that book. Unfortunately real life politics isn't based on a comedy.

The reason I mention it is because one of the main characters, Zaphod, is the President of the Galaxy. His job, he discovers, is not to be the one in control but to draw attention away from the ones who are really in control. Since he has made presidential telecasts from the bar, the maximum security wing of the Betelgeuse State Prison or wherever he happened to be at the time, he turned out to be very good at his job.

My point is, maybe Trump was elected because he's a good showman. ;)

Kinda makes me want to try my hand at writing my own long-lost Nigerian princess scam--all while keeping my avatar, which will surely offer proof that I am a humble, usurped member of Nigerian royalty who merely needs each of you to send me $5000, and I will be happy to share my family's vast fortune. :rolleyes:

Hopefully you all accept payment in rocks, paperclips, and rubber bands... which seem to be the only things I have excessive amounts of at this current time (and the rocks are quickly disappearing.)

Please, send me that money now! :D

Hmmm... as I recall, Erma Bombeck had a similar problem with wire coat hangers. She claimed they were breeding in the closet.

She did specify it was ONLY the cheap wire coat hangers. The good thick quality coat hangers wouldn't multiply at all. She claimed she had tried everything from soft music and low lighting to leaving coat hanger porn in the closet, but the good coat hangers just simply would not breed.

1. What, pray tell, would count as "coat hanger porn", or do I dare even ask??! (Pictures of pretzels lying a LITTLE TOO CLOSE together between the baking sheets? Hangers hanging in the closet without any clothes??? Hangers that have their necks intertwined?)

2. You're in luck. The current rocks in my possession are, unfortunately, a bit too small to officially be counted as REAL stoning. Consider yourself lightly pebbled instead.

About ten minutes ago I was doing squats when Dad asked me if I wanted some ice cream. After finishing my ice cream I am once again doing squats, wondering why I even bother.

I dunno, there was this one guy I knew of who worked out a lot and ate a lot of junk food. Someone said, "If you stopped eating all that junk food you wouldn't have to work nearly as hard to stay in shape." He replied, "I'm working out this hard so I CAN eat junk food and still stay in shape."

*shrug*

Whatever works I guess.
