I'm happy to see my friends get married. I'm not too happy when I realize I'm stuck as a 15 years old and can't seem to grow up like a normal person.

Carbonara, how I love thee. Why did it take so long for me to find you?

I already have a habit of making a big pot of chocolate pudding on Sunday afternoon. I might need to add a habit of making a big pot of carbonara on Sunday morning.

Do any of you use Avira free antivirus, and does it work well against viruses? My Norton runs out in a couple weeks and I'd like to try Avira..

Back in the day Avira was THE freeware antivirus. Nowadays Avast's freeware version is better.

Of course that's just what I gather from the googling I did a few weeks ago when I set up a friend's Windoze box. Personally I just use Linux Mint and don't worry about viruses at all...

Avast sucks.. I've tried it twice and it slowed my puter down to a crawl.. I think I'll stick with Norton, it's a pain in the keister but at least it does a good job. :)

I used to use AVG free version and it seemed ok. I don't even have one now. Haven't for years. I just don't open unknown emails or files. I use free virus scanning programs which scan for spyware and viruses, but I don't have any real-time virus protection. The scans have never caught a virus and my computer runs like new. I keep it maintained myself.

Isn't AVG good? When I had a PC (almost a decade ago, so my info is probably outdated), I never had problems using AVG. But then I had MalwareBytes too.
Yea, that's what I use... Malwarebytes (free) and also Super-Anti-Spyware (free)

I have both of these along with Spyware Blaster..
My situation's kind of unique because I don't have people emailing me jokes or funny pics or videos so I'm not tempted to click on strange files. And anyway, I think 99 of the viruses out there don't really do much of anything besides send an email to all your contacts or change your browser settings. The really dangerous ones like ransomware are the ones u have to watch for, but its usually when people are tempted to click on something which they aren't sure where it came from or why they received it.
