One of my pet peeves is when I talk about being busy or tired and it's met with "Just wait until you have kids!"

I could go on a three paragraph RANT about that but...I'll just leave it at the fact that it's a huge pet peeve of mine.
It might be just because that's what they're used to getting from their peers. When a parent talks about how his toddler is learning to walk he gets a lot of "Wait until he gets big enough to start climbing on chairs and getting on the counter!" If you talk about your kid learning to ride a bike you get "Just wait until he's old enough to drive, then you'll REALLY start worrying!"

I think it's kind of a way to establish superiority of experience, something of a one-upmanship thing. And we single, childless people are easy targets. Everybody knows WE don't know anything about being busy or tired... we're single, we don't do anything with our time except watch TV anyway. :p
People are so good at the one-upmanship game. Now, I won't lie, when I was a young mama I played the game well. As I matured and grew in Christ I realized all that does is create strife among friends.

My mom...whenever my sister or I talk about anything that is hard physically she says, "Just wait til you're my age." She's been doing this since she was in her 30's. Once we hit our 30's she was almost 60....again we hear..."just wait until you're my age." So basically my mom has cornered the market on the age one-upmanship with her children. There is no way we can ever get to that age she speaks of and say, we get it. She will ALWAYS be 29 years older than me. She will always be able to say, "just wait...." :p
I have amazing parents and they are incredible people but that said, I have been "tracking" things I never want to do to my adult child when he gets older... this is one of them. Additionally to add along these lines, is the "teasing" (not sure what word to use) is the aging comments that while sometimes are funny sometimes they are just rude....

*parent: wow, you are getting a lot of gray hair....out of the blue in front of a group of people.
*me: I have to go in and find my sunglasses, it is painful for me to stand out here. Parent: Im telling you ..you HAVE cataracts (I have blue eyes and it has always been painful when I'm outside in the sun without sunglasses even in my 20's but now in my 40's I have cataracts? Dad was badgering me that even after last eye exam Dr confirmed I don't have cataracts he doesn't believe me)
*parent: your getting old have you gotten your AARP card yet?
* parents: I have to get up x number of times to pee a night, now that you are in our age bracket I bet your getting up x times to pee also right? Umm...no I am not in yr age bracket ....

I have vowed to never feel entitled to comment on my son's evidence of aging. I have no problem with aging but it just seems rude to me somehow.

It's the same. Still red. Fortunately not pain often. And only a little when it is.
Though I'm not sure why you comment is popcorn worthy. Haha
I think I know why it's popcorn worthy. Heck, I'm gonna sit back and have some popcorn too. I want to know how this plays out. ;)

Hard shell is the ONLY correct answer lol

Risk of mouth injury was hilarious!
I've always liked hard shell, but for the past 2 years I've had this gum infection that wouldn't go away so I had to stick with soft shell :( But now its completely healed as of about a month ago so I can go back to hard shells! :D

Oh and never ever eat hard shell if u have gum problems! I tried it and it hurt soooo bad.. :(

I had a hard shell taco for lunch today. Taco Bell, I will always love Taco Bell, I don't care if it's not authentically Mexican food, I don't care that it's fast food. I love their crunchy little tacos. I also like their Seven Layer burrito. The first official date I had with my Husband he asked me where I wanted to go for dinner? Taco Bell was my reply, he wasn't sure if I was serious, but I was. Maybe that's why he married me, I'm thrifty.

I had my tacos today, and it was everything I thought it could be. I even wrote a poem to commemorate the occasion:

An Ode To Tacos by Jon Judge

TACOS ARE AWESOME.

*bows*

Thank you.

My top favorite tacos are from Taco Time. Then Taco Bell.

Lucky for me that the nearest Taco Bell is a half-hour drive away. If it were much closer, my waistline would be even larger. I can get wrecked at Taco Bell. Gimme my Nachos Bel Grande, 3 hard shelled tacos, a Mexican Pizza and stay out of my way. Just keep throwing packets of FIRE sauce at me.

I forgot about Mexican pizza, I love Mexican pizza. I could polish some tacos and one of those off my pre surgery days. I can eat a taco now, that's fine.

Ohh that is weird that you guys mentioned mexican pizza! I actually had a craving for one a couple days ago and I hadn't even thought about mexican pizza for years and years... (I didn't get one though because I got chinese takeout instead..)
