Everytime politics is discussed, I feel people forget this bible verse:

Luke 6:27-30
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also."

Be nice to each other for goodness sakes
It's not just politics. It's any topic. Minor theological differences (non-core issues), flatness or roundness of the earth, anything, everything.

Sites like this one provide anonymity. And, when you don't have to look your conversational partner in the face, it's easier to let your sinful nature out.

Morning musing, or mayby maundering:

It still just breaks my brain that people complain about being poor... in a land where almost everybody throws away a pair of pants when it gets a hole.

It's not that we're poor because we're wasteful. It's that we don't know what real poverty is. "A stitch in time saves nine" doesn't even mean anything to us because we have so much. But so many people still complain so much about being poor, because there is still SOOOOOO much we wish we had.

I think the tenth commandment is the most important one on the list. If we all followed it we'd be a lot happier and it would be a lot easier to keep all the rest of them.

I love waking up in the mornings with a song on my mind or tongue. Often I will look it up and see what God has to say for the day. It is sometimes relevant later in the day which always amuses me. If I have been soaking in a scripture sometimes I wake up with it in my mouth and I wonder what my spirit was celebrating while my mind and body were resting.

I am really liking this enlightenment thread. I had another ahah moment.😊

So this morning, it dawned on me...

We can drift through life if we are not careful. Not having any achievable goals we end up like driftwood. Sometimes God dosen't give us a set plan to work with when we come here. Yes he gave Einstein a good mind and he used it well. He had opportunities too and is accomplished. I bet he didn't feel useless. Some of us are not that lucky to have been blessed with certain gifts but that does not always mean we have are stuck with the feeling like we are just a wasted life. No, we set goals for God and He helps us move forward. If we dont know what we really want, we start with the basics.... diet, exercise, and health and family friends.... even when we really feel like giving up, we pray and press on to the High Calling that ours in Christ Jesus.

Never give up. Amen.

(just picking myself up after a long week of giving up with my goals again...

oh, and EDIT:I have just realised I have posted this is the wrong thread, but nevermind😊

Sounds good to me. What do you mean by "we set goals for God"?

Hi Sculpt.

I mean I tell him my plans and then have Him help me.

I have set some goals I want to persue but I get half way and give up. So this time I am patching myself up and using the bible to push myself when I give up so I keep going

When I reflect on my day I think of it in terms of " was I good steward of my time?". It helps me focus better referring to scripture. I have a friend who once shared that he views his job in terms of "do everything as unto the Lord". He said it actually caused him to start enjoying going to work.

Yes, that’s it!

You said it better than I.

Thanks

Have you considered just presenting yourself to God and let Him tell you what His plans for you are?

Well no, because how would I know it’s really “God” speaking to me? I just assume I wanna do things like create music. And go from there.

I suspect you probably wouldn't know at this point in your walk with Him. You could always follow the practice set forth in Proverbs 3:5-6.
