I'm needing to keep the kittens in the extra bedroom in my house during the day while I'm gone, which is great because they're comfy in there and even like to go in there to hang out when they don't have to. The only thing is that I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of the litter box smell so that it doesn't stink up that room while I'm not there. I'm really self-conscious about the smell of my house. I don't want to have a house that smells bad when people come over to visit, but it's only about 1000 sq. ft. and isn't well-ventilated. Hopefully I can get it figured out eventually.
If you make sure to scoop the litter box/clean it once a day, it shouldn't develop tooooo much of a smell. I mean, cat litter is going to smell like cat litter no matter what, but if you keep up with it, it won't smell so much like...you know, cat waste.

Unfortunately no ceiling fans. There are two windows in the room, but it's pretty hot outside and I don't have central A/C so it would probably get too hot for them. Hmm...I may need to start getting creative about this.

Praying for you and for Mocha.
You could potentially do what MissCris did XD

Yeah...I guess you can't really get poo to not smell like poo haha. I've been emptying it 2-3 times a day, so I'll probably just continue to do that. I've heard that baking soda helps as well, so I will use that too.

I sincerely hope he has more sense than that :p

I don't know how you feel about other scented stuff, but a plug-in scent thingy (check out that scientific term) placed in or right outside the room might help.

lol I might, except I will probably leave out the glitter :p
Good plan...the glitter occasionally comes off and it's like a sparkly blizzard up in here (which, honestly, I find delightful).

Evie- any word yet on Mocha?

So funny story...I bought a package of those and went to use them this morning only to realize that they didn't come with the actually plug-in part. Definitely a Paul moment right there.

Nope...though I should in the next 10-15 minutes. If I don't, I dunno what I'll do.

If they don't call you soon, call them. Sometimes places like that get busy and don't think about the people whose peace of mind depends on hearing from them.

I have 3 cats and the best litter I've found is Arm and Hammer, the more expensive one works really well, but in general Arm and Hammer works well. Also put some potpourri in their food, the poop will come out smelling like roses. Just kidding about the potpourri.

So I think I've vented enough about living overseas that I should tell some of the good moment stories too.

So today we needed to get more bottled water (the 5 gallon jug kind) and the place we usually get it across the street wasn't open. So I called my friend who owns a store down the road and asked her if she could deliver two bottles to us. She sends someone with them, but she stocks a different brand with special bottles or something so we can't trade our empties for hers. So the delivery guy she sent goes out to some other store and buys water for us and brings us back 2 bottles that he can trade for our empties.

Then tonight I was over at a friend's house and it was pouring down rain when it was time to go. I'd left my rain poncho in my bike basket outside (yeah that was dumb of me) and when I got out to my bike it was gone. And my first thought (may be revealing some of my prejudice here) was great, someone needed a poncho and decided to take the one sitting there in my bike basket, guess I'm going to be completely soaked on the way home. Then this guy comes up with my poncho and hands it to me, apparently he had taken the poncho out of my bike when it started raining so that it wouldn't be soaked when I came out.

So yeah, though it is tough and frustrating at times, [this] Asian culture totally has its good moments too.

Is it 'didn't' or 'hadn't' when speaking about the past? I seem to use them nillie-willie and I dunno if it's correct half the time, and most of the time I don't care to check

like should it be: hadn't effected or didn't effect ?

I use didn't if the situation is still the same...hadn't if it changed, if that makes any sense.

It didn't change the outcome of the day that...

It hadn't occurred to me until today that...

so then my reply to ViolaCat should have been 'didn't effect' cus nothing changed.
