Interesting.

Maybe.

But Jesus is pretty resilient. He spoke words of healing, forgiveness, and comfort to a woman caught in adultery whom the Pharisees were sure He would stone on sight. He shocked the religious experts of the day at every turn. I'm sure He'd do the same today if the Father had chosen now to come to the world.

I actually just asked Him about the devil's food cake right now in a prayer... wondering if He'd find humor in it or would rebuke me for mentioning it.

If He doesn't answer right away, at least someday I'll get to ask Him in person.
...He never spoke in negatives that were concepts in opposition to the Father and His Character and Nature though..., nor would He...

When I was a waitress in high school, there were at least 2 times that I can recall when an older man asked me to put my finger in his tea to make it sweet. I never knew how to respond, I'd usually just awkwardly laugh and then scurry away. :p
...obviously I missed another sugar substitute I should have put on the list; plz forgive me ... ;)

What you men need to do is open up a chocolate shop for singles. And have all men working there. As aussieguy said, Blam! The rest is history :p

I don't eat sugary food, I'm sweet enough ;)

booyah! XD

I'm old and bitter and gray haired so I eat as much sugar as I can. Lord knows I need it.

Oh! And I drink 5-7 energy drinks a day. Without them, I get no where.

Oh I don't know about that. I think calling someone a whitewashed tomb is pretty negative...

...oh, ...you mean like Christ did?

"Mat 23:27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness."

...cant see how you relate that verse to the thread...really....

That girl is poisonnnnnnnn.....

My daddy always grew a crop of sugar cane, among other things, in our yard...it made for great summertime snacking, especially since my sisters and I virtually lived outdoors all summer long as kiddos. I would chew on a stalk until my jaw ached.

I'm all for eating healthy, but I don't obsess over it. I'm completely willing to indulge in the occasional dessert because I know that 85% to 90% of the time, I'm not putting absolute garbage in my body. My overall attitude for anything that goes into/onto your body (I'm incredibly picky/chemical-conscious when it comes to body products) is don't just settle for junk. I don't have a big sweet tooth to begin with, so if I'm going to have sugar, I don't settle for candy, gum, juice, prepackaged baked goods...I'll go after tropical fruits, an ice cream cone from my favorite creamery, cupcake from my favorite bakery, good chocolate, ethnic cuisines, or try out a new dessert recipe.

Perhaps some may find that to be a little materialistic, but we only get one temple to maintain. A little sugar is fine, if everything else is balanced. It's possible to indulge without being gluttonous.
