Do you ever get the feeling that christians talk about prayer far more often than they actually DO it?

Jesus prayed a lot. He went to the Father when tempted. He prayed for Peter when satan wanted to sift him. He prayed for those who tortured and mocked him. He prayed in the garden.

How can we know God's will if we don't seek it? And not just for ourselves. For the people we say we will pray for. For our families. For our workplaces. For the world. For one another. For our enemies. For this election that's coming up (so many are fussing and feuding over it, but how many are praying?).

I have personally been convicted for not spending as much time in the prayer request thread as I once did. Must correct this.

A young couple saw a friend of mine praying over his food in Taco Bell last weekend and it enabled him to share Christ with them. :)

Amazing things happen when God's people pray. I'm ready to see prayer rock this planet by the hand of the God! We want to see God do amazing things, but we often forget that He's wanting us to ASK Him!

How is your prayer life?

This is something I really want to answer but some of the stuff I want to say is deeply personal and I don't feel comfortable sharing it here. This goes for a lot of your topics, Jullianna. I'm sorry :/

It was because of the Lord's incredible prayer life that He had such a wonderful ministry! The Apostles, Paul and the early Church all followed His earthly example, hence why they knew continual revival for decades.

He spent the first 30 years at Nazareth being prepared by His Father for His 3 1/2 year ministry, He learn't to pray, pray and then pray again at Nazareth! Psalm 69v7-12,20,21. Psalm 69 is a Messianic Psalm that has it full fulfillment in the earthly life of our dear Lord Jesus., note v10, 'When I wept and chastened my soul with fasting, That became my reproach.' Because of His prayer life He could say in John 6v57, 'As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me,' and Paul could say in Gal 2v20, 'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.' (which fulfilled the last part of John 6v57).

It was also His prayer life that opened up the Scriptures to Him. Isaiah 49v2, 50v3-8, Luke 2v40,52 (KJV), John 1v14.

Yes, indeed, I think we in the Church need to really follow the example of the early Church and follow the example of the dear Lord Jesus's prayer life! Matt 6v6, Acts 1v14,4v31,

Yahweh Shalom...

I'll be honest, my prayer life hasn't been nearly as involved as it should be, but that's been changing. God recently blessed me with clearing a hurdle that's been stifling my level of intimacy with Him since I was a kid and I now find myself in prayer randomly throughout the day.

I understand. :) Prayer IS a very personal thing.

It's just something that was on my heart. A reminder and encouragement to myself to pray more as much as anyone else. :)
