This needs to be said about the "Nice guy"... (facepalm)

I'm really tired of hearing talk about the "Nice guy" when he doesn't even exist.

It's complicated.

Here's a reality check... there are Christian men and then there are non-Christian men. That's the truth. There is no such thing as a "Nice guy."

The "Nice guy" name is a label made up by the world to describe "good" guys according to their view point. According to the world it doesn't matter if your Christian or not... you can be a "Nice guy." That's very important to understand.... in the world's viewpoint where LYING is okay, STEALING is not stealing if your not caught... where its a dog eat dog world where Satan rules... of course the "Nice guy" is looked down about... of course keeping a Godly character is not beneficial OR good...

But, we don't live in that world do we? We are not like them or under Satan. We're not of this world. And I can't help but think that when people are using the words "Nice guy" that they are buying into THEIR kind of thinking... by thinking "HEY WOMEN ARE NOT FLOCKING ALL OVER ME, What gives? Maybe being nice aka good... is a bad idea." No that's a sinful idea. God wants us men to be Godly and women flocking all over us has NOTHING to do with that.

Galatians 1:10

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Are you still trying to please man/woman? This verse is for you if you thought being a Godly man is a bad idea.

Genuine Christian men should set their eyes on God and his ways and ONLY look to marry genuine Christian women. The Christian women do the same. If you like "qualities" of the bad boy/girl... question yourself because you may like attracted to sin. If you notice "Christian" men/women flocking over to the "bad boy/girl... that's wrong (don't think its a good idea to be bad) and move on. Keep looking for a Godly person. Its that simple.

I'd also like to add...If you see people being attracted to sinful behavior, the bad boy/girl, than maybe you should tell them... that maybe something is wrong with them, nicely.

God Bless

I'm not trying to please men or women. I just need to grow a pair and become more confident in Christ.

What does "growing a pair" have to do with anything? And what do you mean by more confident in Christ? And WHY do you need to "grow a pair" for? Why do you want to be more confident in Christ... is it for God or for women?

Like before, "Nice guy" and "growing a pair" are phrases used from the world's perspective... it makes me skeptical of where-ever your coming from...

Very well said. I've been waiting for someone to say something like this especially from a guy's perspective.

Part of me says I should feel bad for laughing reading this thread. I should feel bad. But it's just that on whatever forum I go to and the "nice guy" subject comes up - people seem to want to e-slap one another. It's sort of amusing and sort of sigh inducing.
