That reminds me, and this is indirectly related to the theme of this thread: Like George, I once tried "Oppositism". I shall elucidate.

I was homeless back in 2018. In a Subway restaurant one afternoon, I saw a very attractive Latin-American woman sitting by herself. Taking George's lead of going up to the hot blonde at the counter and saying, "Hi. My name is George. I'm unemployed and live with my parents," I went over to this lady's table and said, "Hi, my name is Keith. I'm unemployed and living on the charity of friends. And, I think you're a very beautiful lady." Unlike George, I got ignored. But man, that felt good :D
I give that a:

That took some guts, for sure... The only reason I took a deduction is because if I would have been that woman, I would have had no idea how to respond, lol.

I wouldn't have wanted to be rude, but I would have been a little terrified that a stranger was being so bold. :)

...it was also possible that she might have taken you home with her if she was single and available. Quite a bold move on your part though. Most impressed.

Yeah, I was surprised to see Yellow fold. That company has been around for years. I guess shippers are scrambling to find alternate trucking.
I wasn’t surprised at all to see them go down in flames. They were the literal worst.

Oh I've done that (not the taking home part :D). I asked someone out in a laundromat, at a GNC, a cashier at a Ralph's supermarket, a nurse at a Kaiser facility (twice, the same girl)... got shot down like a WWII fighter every time.

Howdy Tim and welcome to the forum.

I had to just smile and nod blankly at most of what you said, from hiking to putting turmeric in tea. "I have no idea what you're talking about boss, but I'm glad you're happy."

Hiking does seem to be popular with guys these days though, so you'll probably find some other people to talk to here.
Howdy Lynx, thank you for your welcome :)

I can highly recommend a turmeric latte, I like them slightly spicy and sweet. If you see a hipster, follow them and it shouldn't be long til you find a turmeric selling cafe... 😆😄

Bless you!

As for the subject of paying to DM, I felt a bit miffed at first, but on reflection I feel it's a great resource, and well worth sowing in to!🙂

I think Seoul should own her own coffee shop and start taking orders, though she probably doesnt want to be the Rachel to someones Gunther.

Im not really a coffee person even though I get invited to 'coffee' all the time by older retired ladies! Who talk a lot. The retired ladies chat thing do it all the time and they have all these coffee cards too.

If I did that while working I wouldnt get any work done.

However, fish and chips and icecream I can do. And Ive worked in a fish and chip shop too.

I once made the mistake of dating and thinking coffee was like something really important because of all my workmates who were addicted to coffee.

I thought it was something they needed to wake up like a drug.

I come from a tea culture so coffee is not something I do or used to, though you can get amazing coffee in nz by trained baristas.

I always order hot chocolate though...I just never got into drinking something bitter. Though chocolate or cacao can be quite bitter with no milk or sugar in it.

Yum cha I will do, with a group is best but please dont think I will order chicken feet or tripe I am not that traditional, but if you like the same dim sum I do you either have a mate or if you dont then theres more for me.

Eh... haven't 'fought' in a while. Last woman I approached was probably that cashier, and that was at least 4 years ago.
I married a waitress many years ago. Probably should've tried for the cashier. Disaster. (1978 -1984). Bad.

In real life or any reality, she was most definitely not my friend. I take full blame for this marriage fiasco. I was young, foolish, and didn't have a clue. It took years to recover. Due to my lack of wisdom from a shaky spiritual standpoint there was a heavy price to pay. Fortunately, by the grace of God, I was taught a valuable lesson and learned from my mistake. From that point on I was moving forward in a positive direction.

when you in your twenties we do all sorts of stupid things..I mean thats the time to do those things. I dont think people can really stop being young and foolish sometimes. However God can forgive most things...!
