LOL Thats funny I dont care who ya are!!

Before I bought my home I had neighbors on all sides, above and below. A young couple moved in upstairs. They were young, just starting out and broke.

They used to play their music so loud that the bass rumbled through my ceiling. So being the helping neighbor that I am; I provided them wooden blocks to put underneath their speakers. That worked for awhile until they decided they didnt want to use the wood blocks any longer with no regard to my sanity! Ha!

So I did as any wise resourceful person would do. I out spent them! I bought a powerful sound bar with super sub woofer and placed it ON TOP of the highest shelf pointed toward the ceiling. Problem was solved. They got the message. There was peace in the neighborhood once again
:p
that's funny! :)
I had a similar incident a long time ago. I was working days, and my neighbor was up all night. Nice fellow, but he would crank up his classical music loud enough that I couldn't get to sleep.

After a few times of this I set my 100W tube amp up in the window on a desk, cranked it which brought the overdrive in, and racked off some Metallica for him, one long song. I saw him stare at me a while, when I quit I just shrugged my shoulders at him...never had anymore trouble from him!

Sometimes ya just hafta.

At the moment, my brother and I are building a steampunk jetpack out of a ceiling fan, an old person's walker, and gas piping.

I finished "Love the Light." I'll post the soundtrack later.

In the meantime I'm starting work on a soundtrack for this.

Okay, here's the soundtrack I finished. Gonna sing it tomorrow night at church if I can get it polished enough.

Yes the recording is junky - a laptop mic in a bedroom will sound terrible. And I flatted badly on the last line. But it'll give you an idea of the song. I tried to keep the tune simple.

Working on an audition piece on my flute for 5 state honor band. It's in 2/4 time, allegro, and all sixteenth notes. MY FINGERS DON'T MOVE THAT FAST!

Lately I've been assembling and learning to use a scythe. How many things are there in the world that can still be bought (in mass) from real-world craftspeople? Especially at a fair price. My socks are impressed off by the quality of this thing. Steam-bent in Tracy City, Tennessee from American Hickory using semi-traditional methods.

OK, I am sort of showing off someone else's project here, since I didn't make it. But I will be acquainting myself with it over the next few months as time permits.

I finally was able to get some time in and work on a stained glass project!

glass web 1.jpg

I don't know if you can really see it very well in this pic, but the web will be made with varieties of clear glass. I also added some color accents in a few random spots using scraps I had left over from previous projects. I made some spiders I was gonna dangle from the web, but they got sold, so I have to make more. I got about half the pieces cut and should have the piece finished by this weekend.

Looks great..are those pieces of glass etched differently? Definitely post a pic of the finished piece to include a spider! I wanna see the spider.

Yes. One of the style is called "glue chip," in which glue is squirted on the sheet of hot glass. The glue contracts when drying, leaving etch marks on the surface that resembles snowflakes. It's one of my favorite glasses to work with.

Im becoming a glass nerd - I find the process fascinating, whether the hand crafted art glass or machine made sheets.

Cat, your stained glass projects completely amaze me.

I picked up two books on stained glass to page through while on the treadmill and something that always astounds me is how learning a new hobby is really like learning a new language. I really found some of the terms and definitions to be intriguing, such as, "cathedral glass."

I really love your spider web project (can't wait to see the finished pics) because it reminds me of this:

An infamous stained glass window in the Winchester Mystery House, which happens to be one of the things on my California Bucket List. ;)

I'm working on starting to read more.. Just purchased a few Christian books online that should be arriving next week. One of which is how to still be a Christian without having people walk over you, as that's something that I have struggled with over time trying to differentiate.

Looks like we need a Northern California meetup sometime! If only we knew someone who lived....say....between the bay area and Tahoe, that would be ideal....but WHO???

I try very hard not to push my knitting on anyone. I dont want to become "that girl" but I had 2 requests for Christmas. A scarf for my mom and a hat for my nephew so I have been working on them as I need them completed by Thanksgiving. I finished the scarf for my mom this morning and am so excited about it. Sorry for the slightly camouflaged pic but still not comfortable posting pics on internets yet. Scarf down ..hat and ornaments to go. 20151003_135656(0).jpg
