If they can't get a little dirty or get too scared of bugs, I don't think we're going to get along. I remember a guy jumping up and screaming during a picnic. I was baffled. He pointed at my shoulder with a horrified look. I looked and there was one of those cute white fuzzy caterpillars that look like a mini dog. I gently gathered it off my shoulder and said, "It's cute!". He looked disgusted. Smashing of him to try to endure a picnic with me though.

Religiously speaking, Apostle Paul's teachings must be accepted. I was given a choice one time, "It's either me or Paul."
I was shocked that I was actually having to seriously make this decision. I chose Paul, of course.
I thought the white caterpillers with the black stripes were supposed to be poisionous.

Tussock moth caterpillars are capable of irritating the skin. I had no trouble with the caterpillar as I got transported it to the tree it fell from. It's advisable that people be careful with caterpillars. Thankfully, the little fuzzy guy landed on me and instead of the guy I was with. I can't imagine his reaction then!!

My relationship dealbreakers would be the other persons attitude and outlook on life.......it's hard for me to be around someone who has a bad attitude, is always a pessimistic, and never likes to smile or enjoy life!

the area in which i live is loaded with pessimistic negative attitudes so much that john bunyan skipped over this area when he was preaching in N.Y. also, in 2 different occasions at 1 place, visitors from out of town made these remarks: "what's the matter with everyone around here, they look like they want to kill you"! that is a true story!

I haven't seen a single one. But then Texas is pretty big. It'll probably take a long time for it to fill up. Also I live in a small town. If they come up here they will probably go to Memphis or nashville.

I don't even know anymore. I guess they have to like animals. That's just absolute must. That would be a deal breaker if they didn't. I mean I hate to say it but smoking. And I do not look down on smokers and I used to smoke myself. It's just that when you work so damn hard to quit and you finally get there you don't want to be Tethered to it anymore. You don't want to have to take a smoke break here and pause this for another smoke break and you don't want to have to worry about your clothes stinking when you go somewhere etc. So that would be a deal breaker.

Honestly the biggest thing for me is he has to be a christian. Just has to. Every time I've been in a relationship with someone who isn't and pulls me away from my walk with God.

Any kind of games would be a deal breaker. Straightforward and honest. Any sort of lying is a deal breaker. Like when - I'm talking about a habitual lying sort of situation

Yep, christian, non-smoker and not a habitual liar...

It's funny, when I read that I was reminded of when I dated a real habitual liar. She was actually very sweet, giving, beautiful, was kind and defended weaker and rejected people, and loved her kids. It seems so counterintuitive that she would be habitual liar, but she was a genuine real pathological liar... she lied about very big things too lol. It amazed me that she proved she was dedicated to being with me, but she was somehow unaware that love requires trust, and that the reveal of her big lies was inevitable and would guarantee our end.

Biggest and only turnoff. Someone who cannot commit in a Godly way. That person’s poison manifests in many toxic ways. From short temperament and gawking at others to causing arguments. Without good intentions based on the standard of good, how can anything ever work?

What are your relationship dealbreakers, besides religious requirements? This is intended to be a fun but slightly serious thread.

I'll start...

I am not an active outdoors person (hiking, biking, watersports, etc.), so I would not choose someone who likes these activities since that is a different lifestyle. I like being outdoors too, but I prefer sitting/walking on the beach or having a picnic.

I do not see living life without animals, so he must like cats and/or dogs.

To me the two most important things are trust and communication besides God being First in any relationship whether it's marriage or friendship especially in a Christians life and honesty , and if someone has done you wrong you must forgive them because Jesus says in his word we must forgive. Unforgiveness will only hinder you from really serving God and truly knowing God's good and perfect will for your life

Dealbreakers that I can think of off the top of my head would be:

- Doesn't like cats
- Doesn't like 80's (movies, music, etc.)
- Doesn't like exercise/working out
- Doesn't like keeping things neat and clean (I can handle some messyness within reason)
- Doesn't like korean dramas (but IDK I might let this one go, it depends)

Doesn't like, or can't stand?

I don't like drinking milk, but I can sit here and watch you drink it with no problem. What if she doesn't like 80's stuff, or exercise, or cats, but has no problem sitting on the couch next to your cat watching you exercise to an 80's video?
