My profile pic is my grandson and myself from 6 weeks ago.
I wonder how many of us just went to look at your profile pic. I did! I admit it! ;)

My avatar is a pic of me, as well, from about a month ago? I don't know. It could be a little older. I always use a pic of me if it's a person. It might be a super good pic of me, but it's me.

I wanted to add that it is, of course, entirely possible that there extraordinarily beautiful people out there who are online, and some who actually are models and are posting real pictures of themselves.

I had a friend in high school who modeled for local ads and another who was a local beauty pageant winner. Both of them hated the beauty industry though, and left to become, respectively, an attorney, and a youth missionary. And as you can imagine, neither one of them had to make up stories online to get attention (though neither one was the attention-seeking type at all.)

A long time ago, we had a young member here who said he was trying to break into modeling and his avatars were supposedly of him walking in fashion shows. He wasn't here very long, and I have no idea if it was really him.

I'm sure people like that are really out there--just not quite as "often" as most would like to think.

So you are saying you are famous?
Hehe no. The news crew came in to do a story about the economy and they interviewed my boss and the camera guy came over and filmed me working at my computer for about 10 seconds, but when it aired it was only like 5 seconds, maybe even less than that. :p This was in the late 90's..

I normally would not get involved in that kind of thing, but I didn't buy what he was selling from the start lol. He kept posting and people kept congratulating him on various things; I couldn't let people continue to waste their time with something that wasn't real. Don't feel bad though. It happens, unfortunately.
I'm always the last to know anything. I just feel like I've missed a major event in out CC lives.

arrow.png I just temporarily posted a pic of me in my avatar so's everyone can see the reals AuntieAnt. I'm not gonna leave it up because I feel much more comfortable (and safer) remaining anonymous on this site. Melita can testify that it's really & truly me.

This is my real hand. :) I actually never get manicures or even go to the salon. I had gone to dinner at my son's friend's house and his friend's girlfriend decided to pamper me with a manicure & fake nails. LOL!! I'm always cleaning, cooking and using small weights so the nails lasted about a day and a half. But it was sure pretty while it lasted. My daughter edited my photo & made this cool image.

Truthfully, her avatar image doesn't do Melita justice. She's exceptionally beautiful like a real princess.

Hmm....interesting thread....Yea there are some people out there who like to pretend to be someone else via photo, name etc....

I like honesty....I find the more authentic the person is the more I enjoy their company.....even if they aren't runway models ...authenticity/honesty is what I call "hot" ;) if you will lol.....

People who use fake photos/aliases are insecure about themselves and in general are not ready for a relationship if they aren't sure of themselves first....

No, not quite. I don't look 16 in person. I look like a Grandmommy for sure. ;)
