To be honest I feel a bit like all of God's children in the bible, in certain ways. I felt like Paul in my radical rebirth. The difference in how I saw the world was like literal scales falling from my eye's and going from blind to seeing again. I feel a lot like the guy whose legs were healed and he jumped up and danced to bring what glory he could to show his loving and humble gratitude towards Gods grace. I'm not a young man anymore (35, not old by any means, but I'm not a spring chicken anymore), but I'm young in my regenerated life and feel I can relate to Timothy in many ways as well.
The beauty of it all is KNOWING the exact same God that gave all these men His grace, love, and discipline, is the very same God that dwells in all of the Regenerated and Reborn hearts now. A very humbling thought in my mind. He is truly greater than my tiny, feeble, and inadequate words can ever start to describe, but I think we all have one thing in common. Every single one of you with His Spirit in you knows how I feel about them as well. I love all you brothers and sisters, and the lost ones I love and pray for you as well, God wants you too.

I have to say a lot of wise responses have been made. I have been waiting for someone to say they see themselves as Paul because Paul was zealous in bringing the gospel of Christ and he was always so grateful just know and be loved by Christ. I also have been waiting for someone to say Job because he suffered so greatly and yet still loved and trusted God- actually now that I think about it that might also be me as I have suffered greatly in my life with completely unfair circumstances but I love God more than life itself. although true I obviously don't trust God as much as Job did.

But me and David seem to be kindred spirits and sometimes I am inspired to write psalms and I naturally take on the writing style of David im sure why though.

Right now I see myself as Thomas, the doubter. Not so much doubting God's power, but doubting that God cares much about me.

I've really put some thought into this, and my conclusion is that i couldn't compare myself to any known name in the bible. David, Paul, Peter, Joshua, Joseph etc.. etc... Nothing i have done would even come close to achieving what they have. And i feel guilty for even trying to put myself in the same league . And i realize they were only human, but they were humans who did extraordinary things. They had extraordinary lives, and extraordinary faith even when they seemed faithless.

If i had to pick someone. I would probably have to compare myself to one of the hundreds of unnamed soldiers in the bible. Not because i'm brave or courageous, but because those soldiers did what they had to do even in spite of themselves. They were given an order and they followed it through. Those men followed it through even to their own death.

They served a greater purpose even then they knew. And they did it not just as one individual person, but by hundreds at their side.
While i may not be able to do extraordinary things, or have extraordinary faith. I do have my life, and i know i have it in me to follow through whatever he should tell me to do, no matter the outcome.

Considerring the Bible timeline is still on-going and does not end until the end of the world, I suppose I am myself.

This whole thread reminds me of Scott Krippayne's "Bible Story"

Stand up, stand up, you don't have to be afraid
He's given you the courage, you already got your strength
Put your faith in God and I promise if you do
He will make a bible story out of you
