I'm sorry for posting so much recently, but this is something I really can;t get off my mind and has haunted me for years. I've heard a lot of Christians talking about the End Times, and how the Second Coming of Jesus is near, and I realize a lot of you guys probably believe that too. And I know you guys probably look at this as a good thing, which I've been trying to, but I can't look at the end of the world as a good thing. To make it clear, I'm flat out scared, crippled in tears and misery. I read a prediction how on September 23rd this year there would be the consolations of Vigro and Leo in the sky, representing the woman and the red dragon in Revelations chapter 12. Then I read how a few years ago there were blood moons as also predicted in Revelations. They said after the 23rd there would be 1,260 days of the apocalypse where the devil would rage upon us and deceive us, leading to the coming of Christ in 2021 (after 7 years.) I've been reading this and piecing it together, and it makes sense. It also says Christ will return during the generation of Israel, whom became a nation in 1948, and since a generation is 70-80 years, that would be 2018-2020. Basically I'm extremely scared and have been for a long time. I don't want to live through 3.5 years of apocalyptic cases and be scared for years. I'm in tears, and feel so scared. Can someone please help somehow?

I suggest you don't pay attention to date setters. No one knows the day or the hour, nor the angels in heaven only the father. Yes we are in the end times but it's a time of rejoicing not fear. Whenever you hear people giving specific dates of his return stay far away from them.

Greetings AlexT2po,

Being in Christ, you have no need to fear the coming wrath of God which will come in the form of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments. For scripture states that believers in Christ are not appointed to suffer God's wrath. Prior to those events of wrath, the Lord will appear and gather his church from the earth and following that He will begin to pour out his wrath. At the end of that wrath, then the Lord, along with those who will have previously been resurrected and caught up, will return with him to the earth to end the age. - Rev.19:11-21 (Note: We are those riding on white horses following Christ out of heaven).

The underlying principal is that, Christ has already suffered God's wrath on behalf of all believers and therefore the wrath that we deserve has already been satisfied by Christ.

For those who are in Christ, the Lord said that we would suffer trials and tribulation. But those trial and tribulation should not be confused with the coming, unprecedented wrath of God. Regarding those date-setters that you mentioned above, my advice for you would be to read the word of God for yourself and test whatever you read and hear against the word of God. If it doesn't match up with scripture, then toss it out as false teachings.

Blessings in Christ!

As far as we being in that last days, you are correct. And the Lord is about to appear and remove his church, the dead and the living. - 1 Thes.4:13-18, 1 Cor.15:51-53

Alex,
Did Jesus leave you with a commission (job) to worry about dates and times, or did He simply tell you (us) to keep on spreading the good news of His kingdom?..... If the "end" comes long after you are dead, will He not ask you why you got hooked-up on all that hoopla, and didn't simply do what He asked you to do?

That is a good point... but what if it does happen in our lives? Will we have to live through God's wrath? I'm confused about what the guy above you said; do those in Christ have to suffer through what may be ahead on the Earth?

Since we're playing "What if".... What if it happens 10,000 years from now? We were not given the commission to play Crystal Ball with God's word, but to just keep on telling people about Him.

Alex one thing I can say for sure is that you have no need to fear because you belong God and all through out the bible he has constantly protected his own especially in his wrath. have you ever read the story of Moses? in the story God sent his wrath on egypt however the people who had the blood of the lamb on their doors were protected

This story is a foreshadow of what is to come and those who under the blood of the lamb will be protected.

Also bible prophecy is what I call the meat of meats in the bible it's not something that just anyone can research and study because if you cannot chew the meat then well... you get this. don't concern yourself with such things instead seek first the kingdom of God and all else will be given to you. My advice is to seek to know God more with a hunger and thirst seek to become closer to him to know him in a more intimate way and seek to deepen the bond and love between you and him.

I have come to see experience and learn absolutely amazing and beautiful things because i did this and because I did this I also grew as a Christian at an unusual rate kind of like a giant burst of growth. This is because I took fathers advice when I was a new believer I asked him Lord what does it mean to be a Christian and what does it mean to be strong in you? his answer was seek love above all other things and everything else will fall into place, very similar to the verse I just spoke but I understood what he meant.

He was saying to seek love above all other spiritual gifts to seek to develop and have a deep and rich love with him for him and all others to have my very being enriched with his love. This is the same advice i give to you

They are mainly people on youtube who call themselves prophets or watchers on the wall and to this day are misleading people. They all have so many subscribers and likes because people eat this kind of stuff up. If you want to make good money then be a false prophet on youtube it's sad but true

I might rewrite those last two sentences to read: "It will come when it will come. Believe and follow Christ, starting now."

"Be prepared always" might be a good slogan for the Boy Scouts, but it doesn't work too well in Christ's Kingdom. The way you can know that is to name the things you have to do to "be prepared always." Gonna stay prayed-up? Gonna make sure to keep your "confession log" current and up to date? Gonna pack a suitcase?

None of these, nor the many other things lots of people will say have to be done, were ever asked of us. We are to believe on Christ and abide in Him. Guess what? If Christ returns on your lowest day... when you are angry, disappointed, and even 'doubting', all at the same time....... maybe actually doing something you were told is a sin at the moment He arrives, He will still take you home with Him.

Nobody knows when the Lord will come. Anyone who says they know is either a liar, a con, or a nutjob. End of story.

Alex, why are you confused? There are two events that many confuse as being the same event, the gathering of the church vs. the Lord's return to end the age when he will establish his millennial kingdom.

In between the gathering of the church and the Lord's return to end the age, God's wrath will be poured out upon this earth in the form of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments. The church will have been gathered prior to the beginning of God's wrath and that because scripture states that we are not appointed to suffer God's wrath.

This coming wrath will be unprecedented, the worst time in the history of the earth, leading up to the Lord's return to end the age. During that time the majority of the population of the earth will be decimated and all human government will be dismantled - Dan.2:31-45 (Go and read the scriptures provided).

The wrath of God during that time will be poured out on a Christ rejecting world, the proud, the arrogant, the sexually immoral, all of those who live according to the sinful nature. Prior to that, believers in the church will have already repented and received Christ and will not suffer that coming wrath and that because Christ already suffered the wrath that we deserve on our behalf.

If those saved were to suffer the same wrath as the unsaved--which will affect the entire earth--then what difference would there be between the righteous and the unrighteous?

"While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

"They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

"Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!"

If you are in Christ, you do no have to worry about be subjected to God's wrath. Continue to walk in faith watching and longing for the Lord's appearing. Of this you can be certain, no true believer in Christ will go through God's coming wrath.

For the believer in Christ, we will not suffer God's wrath because the following event will take place first, gathering all of those in Christ:

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words."

Thank you for answering me; the topic of the end of the world has scared for a long time. But I'm worried that what if he doesn't take me? I try to live for Jesus and put my life to him, repent, and try my hardest to go to Church on Sundays, but I just don't know if what I'm doing is right and if I'm saved (like I say in my previous post)

Hello AlexT2po,

But I'm worried that what if he doesn't take me?

I'm sure that you are familiar with the scripture and the righteousness of God, that He cannot lie. Therefore, the promises that we read in His word, we can trust in.

When you first came to Christ, you believed that you were a sinner and that Christ appeared in the flesh as a human being, but was without sin. By having faith in Jesus as the one who paid the penalty for your sins, He was held accountable for all of your sins instead of you. And because of your faith, just as Abraham was credited with righteousness because he believed God, so you and all believers are also credited with righteousness for faith.

Therefore, since God cannot lie, you can be confident in the promises of complete forgiveness for sins and the hope of eternal life.

I try to live for Jesus and put my life to him, repent, and try my hardest to go to Church on Sundays, but I just don't know if what I'm doing is right and if I'm saved (like I say in my previous post)

If you are not already doing this, I would suggest reading the word and praying daily. When we come to Christ, the Holy Spirit dwells within us and the process of sanctification begins, which is the process of being made holy. We are being transformed into the image of Christ, which is a life-long process. However, God already sees us as righteous because He sees us through Christ who is our righteousness.

When the gathering of the church takes place where the dead in Christ are raised and the living are changed into those immortal and glorified bodies, then we will be perfected. No more sinful nature. So, continue in what you believe regarding Christ crucified, buried and resurrected, which is the gospel and trust in the Lord's promises. Make them yours! Stay in the word and pray always, giving thanks for all things and be zealous for good works. When you sin, confess it and his word says that he will forgive us of all our sins and will cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Do all that you can to sow to the spirit and avoid the acts of the sinful nature.

Never give up thinking that you are unworthy, because we're not worthy. We are not saved by our worthiness, but by God's unmerited favor through faith. No matter what sin you commit, no matter how you feel, all manner of sins and blasphemy shall be forgiven. Always go to His throne of grace looking for His mercy.

You can relax. We're already in end times so what you see is what you get.... No multi-headed monsters rising out of the sea or giant insects with human heads flying around.

What we have instead is a bunch of governments all over the world who don't believe in God and are promoting atheism and godliness. That is our end times right now. All you have to do is try to make a decent life for yourself and don't worry about such things. The monsters in revelation are most likely just metaphors for worldly things like diseases and governments. We already have all the other end times things going on right now in the world: widespread famines, disease, wars, christian persecution, etc.. For all we know the worse is probably already here, so just relax and try to enjoy this life that God gave you.

Hello Zeroturbulence,

The monsters in revelation are most likely just metaphors for worldly things like diseases and governments.
Just FYI, the symbolism regarding the dragon, his heads and his horns, are all revealed to us right in Revelation. The seals, trumpets and bowl judgments, are not symbolic, but is what God will use to carry out his wrath just as it is written.

We already have all the other end times things going on right now in the world: widespread famines, disease, wars, christian persecution, etc.. For all we know the worse is probably already here, so just relax and try to enjoy this life that God gave you.
None of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments have yet begun. The things that you mention going on in the world pale greatly in comparison to what is going to come upon this earth. I would suggest you do an in depth study of those plagues of wrath in order to get a real understanding of their severity.

As an example, with just the 4th seal and the 6th trumpet combined, a fourth and a third of the earth's population, respectively, will be killed, which would equal about half of the earth's population within the first 3 1/2 years of that seven year period. And that is not including the fatalities that will result from trumpets 1,2 & 3 nor of the seven bowl judgments. Because of peoples passive, watered down view of God's wrath, is why I continue to contend that many do not understand their severity and magnitude.

But, I agree with you in that, Alex should not fear that time of God's wrath, for He being in Christ will be removed prior to those plagues of wrath, according to the Lord's promise. These things that are currently going on in the world are nothing in comparison to what is coming. During that time, no one will have to ask, "Is God's wrath here?"

How often do you listen to Christian music? Whenever I am worried stressed or afraid when i turn on my Christian music it's pretty hard for things to say
