When GOD appears to a person, HE can and usually does appear in unsusal forms: example; the burinig bush... the point being that HE may even appear to a person as a simple tree blowing in the wind, or even a person with some type of physical impairment trying to inform you to do the right thing whatever the right thing may be at the time--GOD comes to you in a variety of ways and you just have to know how to tell that it is HIM in disguise. Expect the unexpected.

God didn't make himself known to Moses AS a burning bush but THROUGH that burning bush. Ofcourse, he can make himself known THROUGH about anything, though personally i have my doubts about the claims of people who state they see God in nature, apart from the Bible that is. We should first and foremost test everything against the word (1 John 4:1), how else can you make sure it's really God that's talking to you and not some evil spirit?
If we truly want to know the Father we should look at his Son, and he told us that whatever we do for one of the least of his brothers, we should do for him (Matthew 25:40). I personally think we shouldn't be on the look out for overwhelming epiphanies of God, but keep it simple, and see Christ in our brother in need, and show him the love Christ taught us.
