Of course it is. Have you heard the story about the man with one lead foot?

He kept trying to get somewhere, though one foot was good, he had one lead foot and it prevented him from getting anywhere. He would be moving but at a slow pace, and eventually that lead foot made him stop, it became a burden. He had two choices, either cut off the lead foot and hop around, or keep it and get nowhere?

My friend, Satan works in trough two main windows. The windows of the eyes, and the windows of the ears. This is the testimony of Jesus:

Matt 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Then he goes on to tell the PARABLE OF THE SOWER! Which ground are you?

May Jesus bless you.

Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mat 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

May Jesus bless you.

Hi Dubbaz. Use your own mind if you like to listen to tool or Amon Amarath both awesome bands or whoever then do it if you like to listen to christian music then do that. Be happy with your decision and never apologise to anyone for it.
One more thing Amon Amarath do sing about Germanic mythology "so what" its histroy and intreasting even educating not to mention Christianity wiped out a great deal of the Vikings and the celts and almost everyone else's Beliefs this is fact not an attack on the christianity on my part just stating the facts they built thier churches on top of " pagan" altars so is it no wonder Amon Amarth and such bands are a little begrudging wouldint you be if this happened to you? My two sense worth.

Cheers.

faceless.

I don't see any problem with metal MUSIC. The music itself is not evil, but the spirit or message behind the songs.
The songs and bands you have mentioned obviously are not sending out a Godly or positive message.
My advice woukd be to find some Christian metal bands with positive, Christian lyrics and messages in the songs.
Have you tried Becoming the Archetype? They're one of my hubby's favorites. I don't listen to metal much myself, but those guys have great lyrics. I'm glad they are out there, sending the message to people who listen to metal music all the time.
I'll ask my hubby for some more suggestions. Before he was saved, he listened to most of the musuc you mentioned...so it seems like you have sorta the same tastes. :)
