SouthPark and Family guy are bad shows. I think this not only because they've spoken blasphemy in them, but because they aren't very intelligent and rely on stupid humor and they are incredibly repetitive. I don't watch South park anymore, never really watched it much in the first place, nor family guy. In truth, rarely I watch FG, but I usually don't.

Does anyone find that funny? I thought it was just annoying.

i think some of it is harmless humor - but if it is bad and aginst my religion that of course i dont whatch it - i used to have all the episodes on my i-pod.

South park is just brutell - but some of there episodes are funny - like the one where there is this killer, and everytime her kills someone he cuts of there right hand. And the detectives go to his house, and down to his basement, and they see loads of hands, but there left hands so they dont count. LOl. and they leave and then they realise that he is the killer jiust the right hands were pinned on the wwall the wrong way round so they looked like left hands! SO FUNNY!

anywyaz ye - i like them both, sometimes there is a stroy behind them, but if i see soemthing against God, i obviously just flick it over or fastforward it

How's this for funny? Maybe you find the comments funny too? look at the great comments people are saying about the one who died the most horrible death, so that you'd at have the choice of not spending eternity burning in hell which is btw what EVERY ONE of us deserve. I feel sorry for you if you find it funny, I really do and I pray God will open your eyes before it is too late.

'Verily I say unto you, heaven is reserved only for those who watch not South Park, but actively seek to annoy those who find it quite funny' (Gospel of St Berk 14:23)

I have to agree that Dino isn't being judgmental. Simple question: would you watch the show if Jesus were sitting next to you? Do you think he'll find it "funny?" But that is your choice.

Ephesians 5:1-5 said:
1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
2 Corinthians 6:14-28 said:
14Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[a]? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."[b]
17"Therefore come out from them
and be separate, says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you."
[c]
18"I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
Colossians 3:1-10 said:
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
The verses mention sexual sin quite a bit but they all echo a common theme: that our bodies are temples for God and that we should not defile this temple with (not just immoral) but improper things as well. Yes, Family Guy and South Park does have humour but it's quite often inappropriate humour (sexual jokes, lewd language, swearing, etc.). It's because of those items that some of us choose not to watch the shows for they fall under the categories of "filthy language," "obscenity," and "coarse joking."

However, if you find that you can watch these shows with praise and thanksgiving to God in your heart at the same time, then who are we to stop you? We will not place a stumbling block in your path. It is better for you to give praise and have worship in your heart than none at all.

To be honest I don't know what I'd do if Jesus was sitting here; I'd probably faint.

You know what I meant. :) But as I said, it is your choice. Once saved, always saved. Be a minimalist if that is what your heart desires or run the full race.

I don't want to be a minimalist my heart desires something more but it doesn't know what exactly.

I believe there are two parts.

1) God's plan for you which you will eventually fulfill if you listen to the Holy Spirit, and
2) The things you want to do out of love.

Let's take this South Park/Family Guy as an example. It's probably not part of God's "plan" that you watch or don't watch. I don't know. But it can be something that you want to do or not do out of love for Him. You have to be the one to decide. It's like swearing. Some people say they don't use certain swear words that reference to God or Jesus and they're ok with that. But others will cut all these words from their vocabulary because it's something they want to do that they feel will show God how much they love Him. Similarly, if a beggar on the street asks you for some money but you know he/she won't make any effort to turn their life around (or they may even use it for drugs or alcohol), will you give them the money? You can choose to say no - which wouldn't be wrong. Or you can choose to do something out of love and instead of giving them money, buy them some food. Not doing that doesn't necessarily mean you're sinning. It's just that the latter option is done out of love for God and for the beggar.

Once you're saved, you're always saved unless you willingly turn in the membership yourself. Everything else you do, you should do out of love for God and how far you want to go or how hard you want to run the race (so to speak) is up to you. If you feel you're not doing enough, then ask yourself what else can you do that will show your love to God and to Jesus?
