Something that crossed my mind today. Why do men need/want a man cave? While us ladies are busy running around the house cleaning, cooking and keeping things in order. The ladies need a ladies cave where we can have girl talks and be ourselves. What do you think your opinions matter let me hear them.

Though being single can really stink for some people! Just saying!

A man cave. To be honest I think it is just a place to escape all of the stress. Why they call it a man cave, I have no idea. I don't have a cave. Though if I ever need to get alone, I normally go in the woods or something.

I, personally, need a place to get away from the incessant nagging and objects flying by my head.

Girls have no trouble talking amongst themselves. Also, this assumes that guys don't do house cleaning, cooking and that they keep things in order. Maybe we're not so good at the last one, but guys generally pull their weight in the household more than they used to.

Lol unless your mother does this,...I doubt you have a wife throwing things at your head constantly,...Don't forget that we know you're 17 lol.

I'm not a teen, I know, but for me I need a place where my skill set can be brought into play. I have a shop where I repair and create such things as the family requires. Many women use the kitchen for their skill outlet. This isn't a requirement, in some relationships I am sure the lady does the repairs and the gentleman creates meals. But that is the way that works best in my house.

As far as a place where I can "get away from the womanfolk", I don't need that. Women can stop by the shop anytime, if they don't mind sawdust, and in fact on many occasions I have gotten help from women. That's my 2 cents.

"man cave" - oh dear. as part of my social sciences degree I was silly enough to enroll in gender studies. Of course, anyone of any normal intelligence believes men and women have equal rights, but (imho) there are 'feminists' who just use some feminism as a sort of intellectual hatred towards men. If the house is entirely feminised then the refuge of the man is the 'man cave.' I speak with some hesitation because I live in a shared house with 3 other girls but when I grew up it was me, my mum, my sister and my brother, and it was really rough on my brother because he was the only guy in the house. I wonder if he would have liked a 'man cave' to get away from the rest of the 'girls' (me, my sister and my mother). I'm just saying that 'man cave' seems to trivialise what may be a guy's hideaway where he can be himself, rather than some sort of joke, as is sometimes portrayed. Btw, I'm not saying that anyone here is saying this, but this is just the ideas of the the top of my head.

With my parents, my mom has decorated their house to her tastes so my dad has his one room where he has it the way he likes and calls it his "man cave". I think it's just a space that men can have for themselves and decorate how they like, do things they like and all.

The house is a 'woman cave'. Typically the woman decorates the house, maintains it to her standards and expectations as the primary caretaker. A guy wants a single room and now it's not equal for women? So the woman gets the house, the guy, at best, gets a room, but it's not fair for her.

A man cave, is a place where men can talk and not be corrected for our men-subjects by women. Cars, Music, projects, stuff women don't wanna hear. Where we can hang our posters of our favorite bands, gals tend to not have a place for that ugly, silly stuff in their house lol!

We can go watch sports in there, and not be fussed over the tv or the clicker. Basically, it is just as its name implies. It's where men are allowed to be men without throwing our wimmin-folk out of sorts!!
